a hopeless car, as the flat 12 did not allow for a proper ground effect car. At the end of the season Jody Schecker, the then world champion, had enough and quit F1 for good.

Gilles commented once that it felt like the rear was disconnected from the car

yeah , during this period , Ferrari had chosen to keep thier V12 , even if all others were alreaday running with V10s , more competitive

incorrect, the V10s came ten years later. The T5 was competing with the Cosworth V8 and the turbo engines.
