This car was marketed as the Infinity M45 in North america. it had the engine from the Q45, a nice V8 with lots of torque.

Indeed, but the old M45 had a certain Hot rod personality. Big engine small brain kind of philosophy.
I allways found that attractive in it.

First picture, Cedric G30

The first-generation Cedric (30) was a medium-sized car built using manufacturing techniques acquired from the English Austin Company through a technical tie-up. First the 1,500cc model was launched in April 1960, followed by the 1,900cc Custom (G30) model in October that year. Finally, the 1,900cc Deluxe model was launched in May of the following year. A minor change in November 1962 resulted in the 31, with its twin pairs of headlights arranged horizontally.

The 31 Cedric has its 4 headlights arranged horizontally, unlike the first-generation with its vertical arrangement. This design lowers the body and creates an impression of greater stability. It was launched in November 1962. The Cedric Custom used an 88PS H engine and the wheelbase was lengthened by 60mm to 2,690mm, it was the longest wheelbase among domestic medium-sized cars. The spacious, comfortable interior was yet further improved.

As the first genuine domestic large passenger vehicle, this Cedric Special attracted much attention at the 9th Japan Motor Show in 1962. The 6-cylinder in line OHV K engine (2,825cc, 115PS) and 2,835mm wheelbase put this car in the same class as the Mercedes-Benz 220S. This particular vehicle had the important task of carrying the Olympic torch for the Tokyo Olympics, which was held in the year following the car’s launch.

Launched in February 1971, the third-generation Cedric (fourth-generation Gloria) was the first integrated model since the Nissan-Prince merger. Since then, the Cedric and Gloria have been like siblings. This model debuted as a hardtop, though the series came to include both a sedan (4 round headlights) and hardtop (2 rectangular headlights). In October that year, a 2,600cc model was also introduced.

Without the constraints of a compact car frame, its generous styling and comfortable interior made it stand apart. The top-of-the-line Type II Limited model was also equipped with an electronically controlled air suspension.

Since the appearance of the first-generation model 30 (announced in March 1960, launched in April), the Cedric - noted for its impressive styling and advanced automotive technologies - has stood at the forefront of Japanese automobile manufacture, demonstrating consistent popularity in a broad range of applications, from personal to formal.
The sixth-generation model Y30 was launched on June 22, 1983. This model attracted a great deal of interest as Japan’s first passenger car to be powered by a V-type 6-cylinder OHC engine. Its distinctive styling featured a dignified front grille design and a stable, low-profile silhouette. The 4-door hardtop, 4-door sedan, station wagon and van all received high praise.
Three versions of the newly developed VG engine were available for the Y30: the VG30E (180PS), VG20E (130PS), and VG20ET (170PS). New engine noise suppression, a lengthened wheelbase (+40mm), double vibration proofing for the suspension, and flush body surfaces all contributed to ensuring a quiet and comfortable interior.

In addition to the VG engine, 3 other engines were available: the economical LD28 (6-cylinder in-line diesel), CA20S (4-cylinder in-line gasoline, available for the sedan & van), and CA20P (LPG, available for the sedan). These engines were mainly used for the sedan since it is the first choice for formal (limousine/taxi) applications. Two engines were available for limousine rental specifications: the LD28 (diesel) and CA20P (LPG).

Since the first-generation model (30) appeared in April 1960, the Cedric has been at the forefront of the luxury sedan market, a domestically manufactured passenger car that truly represents Japan. The sixth-generation Y30 was launched on June 22, 1983.

Attracting attention as the first Japanese passenger car with a V6 engine (VG30E/VG20E), the Y30 also featured a wealth of advanced electronic technologies, including the world’s first automatic windshield wiper system with rain sensor and intermittent mode, electronic radio tuner (turbo models) with track display and program reservation, illuminated (EL) hood mascot, and computer-controlled fully automatic air conditioner.

On January 9, 1984, the V30E Brougham VIP debuted as the top-of-the-line model, complete with such standard equipment as computer-controlled power seats (position memory for all 4 seats). And on June 18 of that year the lineup gained two new models, the Turbo Brougham VIP and Turbo Brougham, both powered by the same turbocharged VG30ET engine (max. output: 230PS) used on the Fairlady Z.

The V30 Turbo Brougham VIP had improved suspension and brakes, and came with such standard equipment as an auto-levelizer to maintain vehicle height, and computer-controlled power seats. The wide range of options included genuine leather seats, keyless entry system, JBL speaker system, and fiber-optic steering wheel switches.

Since the appearance of the first-generation model 30 (announced in March 1960, launched in April), the Cedric - noted for its impressive styling and advanced automotive technologies - has stood at the forefront of Japanese automobile manufacture, securing an assured position of strength in a broad range of applications, from personal to formal.

The seventh-generation Y31 was launched on June 17, 1987. Its development concept was focused on luxury car styling, creating the optimal balance of performance specifications, and generating a feeling of high quality throughout. True to the Cedric tradition of always adopting the newest technologies, the designers of this model went to great lengths to incorporate the latest advances, including a newly developed V6 twin-cam high-flow ceramic turbo engine, an electronically controlled air suspension, and a high-quality 4-coat paint process.

There was a choice of a 4-door hardtop and a 4-door sedan; the latter could also be specified as a taxi. The three grades were Super Custom, Classic, and Original. At first the Y31 was available with either the RB20P LPG engine or the RD28 diesel engine, but as part of a minor change in June 1991 the NA20P 4-cylinder in-line LPG engine was added. At the same time, the vehicle design was modified to put more emphasis on rear-seat passengers, changing the roofline to increase headroom, and eliminating the opera windows. Adopted as standard equipment were halogen headlights with combined fog lights, a high-mount brake light, side-door beams, and a dual seat lifter for the driver.
