Have any of you ever seen this Movie?

If so, then mybe you can help me identify the car that is being driven around Paris in that crazy sequence.
Many rumors have circulated concerning the car used. The one that surfaces the most is that it is a Ferrari 275 GTB... what do you guys think?

If u have NOT seen this short movie, you should DEFINITLY get your hands on a copy. Shear speed thrrough early morning Paris streets. OH and the sound that car makes....

I've heard about it but that's a lot of money for 9 minutes. Heard it's worth it, though.

I've heard this: Ferrari 275 GTB as the most common answer, but many think that's not the case. Some feel it was his Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9L, some think it may be a Matra Le-Mans spec-car, and others a Renault Alpine Berlinetta, but everyone's conclusion states that the sound was added after filming. The sound of the engine is rumored to be of a 66/67 Ferrari 330P on Pierre Bardinon's personal track.

LeLouch has never officially commented on much, if any on the facts of the video, leaving most of it up to detailed analysis and legend. However, most rumor that LeLouch was later arrested for a brief period of time, and had his license suspended for one or two minutes after the policeman congratulated him on the masterpiece, with a sarcastic, yet stern look on his face. (Stated his sons love the video)

Here is one source discussing information from his biography, not sure of the truth in it.

Just come back from holidays in Florida & read the article in 'Automobile' mag
(US
version)...

i have a few comments on the emails i just read:
(i love Rendez-Vous => the best car moment in cinema imho)

i can reveal in exclusivity here....
................... well *not really* in exclusivity actually... => for the
french
speaking people who read C. Lelouch autobiography written 6-7 years ago...:

The car used for the movie was Claude Lelouch' s own car at the time:
A Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9 L.... not a Ferrari 275 gtb as suggested by the poster of
the
movie & a few people fouled by the soundtrack!
The soundtrack was dubbed.
Claude Lelouch was the driver.
He did not have the auth' from Paris Police at the time of filming.... so ended
up in
'Le commisariat' for a few hours.
He shoot this movie as he had some film left from another shoot he had just
completed &
did not want to waste the film left.
He is a car-nut so he decided to film this.
He had the idea of the movie after he was *very late* for a date with his
girl-friend
at the time & was stuck in a traffic jam in Paris a few month before...

Voila....& for the 'ze French Speakers' get: 'Itineraire d' un enfant gate' =>
the
book! by Claude Lelouch.

Regards,
Eric.
PS: Another 'best-of' movie from Lelouch is 'Un Homme & Une Femme' 1969 (iirc)
with
Jean-Louis Trintignant & Anouk Aimee..... Trintignant is factory driver for Ford
& he
drives (among others: Ford GT40, Mustang etc........)...Well worth a watch!

Braes yourself for a shock, the car in the clip is actually a Alpine A110, but however the sound when filmed was not so good quality, so they edited it and put a Ferrari 250 GTO sound… :)

It was proven that it was a Renault Alpine. The engine sounds however I believe are from a Ferrari 365 Daytona. Thats what I picked up from the article I read on it in Autocar. But yeah, pretty awesome piece of film.

The fact that no one realy knows for sure what the car is only ads to the mystique of this film.
He really was arrested after the movie went public, but was released

I only have a digital version, but i have been looking like crazy for a real one. very rare piece it is.
