This is the Citroen SM, as built between 1970 and 1975. The SM combined Citroens high tech suspension with a very refined Maserati V6 engine. At the time of its launch it was considered as one of the most luxurious and best cars around. For the French market Citroen also had a 3 litre version with an automatic gearbox. Almost all cars were 2 door coupes, only two 4 door saloons survived

I see "...Speed trials" on the window.
In what sort of speed contest did this car participate?

the interesting part of the photo is the small picture behind the car showing both the car itself and the towing truck, this is a very interesting conversion, probably preceding the CX based sixwheeers that were built in Belgium.
The racing SM is fitted with twin turbo's and was actually driving by a lady, who's name I unfortunately forgot, although I spoke in Paris with the guy who did the conversion.

I found a site where is some more information about this car and the cars on the poster behind it.

http://www.infoweb.nl/smworld/default.htm

It's not a realy big site and the pictures are small, but I think it's worth viewing.

Nice car!

Is the license plate under the glass piece between the headlights?
