Nah - I'm pretty certain that is a customer car. I'm sure they didn't say that they were only producing them in red.

I think it's not an aftermarket job... for such an amount of money it would be fine if you could pick the color yourself, right?

It is not an aftermarket job, it came from Ferrari in black. The majority of the FXXs will be red, I've heard that there is/will be yellow (Giallo Modena) and blue (TdF blue) as well - maybe even another color, but I can't remember for sure right now.

That’s a joke than, the Ferrari doesn’t come close to a Veyron as a car, lame excuse for ferrari to make more enzos and make money out of them.:rolleyes:

black fxx. get rid of the white strpid and it looks more like a test prototype to me. pretty much just a tuned enzo. I still like the pope's enzo better (400th and final enzo built, I think it sold for a little over $1,000,000)

Disagree… Veyron is not overhyped, the car does 407km/h.. is a step ahead of everything… ugly, I don’t think so.. i think it the best looking thing around, heavy maybe a little…. :D

The enzo is nothing special, and for Ferrari to make a FXX enzo with light changes… lame excuse to make more money.. I think the enzo is ugly, the CGT and SLR look much better and I think are better cars.. Specially the FXX… that thing it hideous

Vw is losing money on the Veyron… takes 5 million to make... it’s a masterpiece…

I think it's a little unfair to call the FXX a tuned Enzo. It's an 800bhp, stripped out, slick-shod, air-jacked GT car. Just imagine, you'd thrash the pants off a grid of LMES cars (if you could drive)!

Also, the Veyron is road legal - which the FXX ain't. It's beautiful, it's got 1,050bhp – it's everything a Bugatti should be.

Production model.

It doesn't really need headlights apart from rainy conditions, and "get out of my way".

Its a track car only, so probably won't be doing much at night.

Sounds quite nice, looks well planted (as you'd expect) but that's about it IMHO.

As you can see Ferrari did the same to the F50, they made a F50 GT. I think it'd be better to call this the Enzo GT, FXX is just too........."hotwheel"-ish, but the car is just like that anyway.

Veyron isn't heavy for its purpose, without that kinda weight it wouldn't be roomy and luxurious, and it would fly anytime at high speeds. But Ferrari's FXX..........is ugly IMO.........the F50 GT looks much, much better.

Yeah, FXX is gay - perhaps the Enzo Monza or Enzo Imola would have been better. I really like the Enzo Ferrari Monza name - of course that's the official name of the car, the Enzo Ferrari.

When you a buy a McLaren F1 2nd hand the factory will refit it in any trim you want. Same as if you brought it new. How cool is that?!

Ferrari already tried to enter Le Mans with the MC12 but forgot to build it to the regulations.

If they can't get in with a bona fide GT racer they sure as hell can't do it with a car that conforms to no regulations whatsoever.

The veryron is a road-going car, albeit an exceptionally fast one.

The FXX strikes me as being largely pointless.

You can argue that they can use it to test various technologies, but technologies for what?

It isn't a race car, and it isn't a road car; therefore it won't be driven in racing or road going situations, therefore how is it a good test bed for technologies to be used in these fields?

Anything they develop is still going to need further development in road going prototypes.

Do the "owners" get much out of it, other than getting to thrash the thing?
Presumably as they are acting as "test drivers" they are required to complete a certain ammount of mileage within a specified time limit.

The whole set up doesn't really come together.

Well, actually, they will be racing them. They've got their own little special series set up to run them against eachother... I'm sure that the knowledge gained from the FXX exercise will aid the development of the next "super" Ferrari... That, and it's marketing genius.
