Hello-
We all remember the 80s when the Range Rover dominated the no.1 place among others in offroad luxury category.
Back then there was no BMWs or Porsches to worry about....
Today the image is different as new players have joined the game.
In you opinion which car will be the throne's successor for the good old Range Rover?
1-the X5
2-Porsche Cayenne
3-Mercedes ML class
4-Cadillac Escalade
5-Lincolin Navigator
6-Grand Cheroke
7-VW tourage
8-The new Range Rover
or any other car you may suggest....

cayenne - the most bloody pointless suv. how fast do you want an suv to go and who are you gonna race with. suvs are about style which the cayenne deffinately does not have. they are about smooth responses, smooth power delievery, some off roading skills and not only the school feild. the x5 has all that and why is it the king because it is the best off roader on road. it may not have the performance of the cayene but then again it does not use two turbos and just imagine what would happen if you actually put two turbos in the x5, youre gonna get at least 500hp and that is gonna thrash the cayenne no doubt but then again horsepower is not everything. you have the poise, the steadiness and the confidence all in one mammoth 4x4. it looks good, real good - it looks so good in fact i would not be surprised if it was named the decades most beauiful car. only a very small percentage of people really take their suvs offroading and also for that small percentage, how often do they do it unless they are geographers or some jungle explorer.

I am not sure about the rest but because i have already seen and tested both range rover and cayenne, i would say the cayenne. I like the look of the cayenne S better though. I have alot of cayenne and range rover side to side pics but i also dont have a resizing program and there is a limit here so i cant post them.

I guess I would chose the Volvo XC90. X5 is great, ML is cool, Porsche....well I prefer the supercar and not the SUV/SAV. Or VW Toareg is also nice, but I'd still chose XC90.

I think the VW Tourage will screw the others for the next 20 years at least so I give a piece of advice to 4wd manufacturers to stop losing time making offroaders.:D

We shouldn't forget that the new Range Rover is also equipped with long list of technologies not just the germans....After all it is a Range Rover...
Still I give my vote to Porsche :D
