this may turn into a competition of photoshop skill rather than photography. also i think the comp title should be 'photo editing competition' or closer to that.

Which is why I've restricted it to minor adjustments only - nothing you need "skill" for. And "Photo editing" is plain chopping, which isn't really what this is completely about.

I'm sorry, Niko and Pinin, yours are not allowed. You can make it either whole b&w or Sepia, otherwise it'll just become another chopping comp. Esperante, yours is fine.

Yeah, mate, sorry, but I don't get that. I removed colour in parts of my photo just like Niko did.
I don't think this will turn into another chop comp if the modifications are limited to filters and contras/saturation/hue/brightness.

This competition was started because many were complaining that in the Photography competition a lot of it was upto camera advantage with inbuilt features and such. So this one was started to give an equal advantage to all (for example, maybe even a photo from a phone cam can win if filtered right) and it seems like a good idea. I said Niko's and Pinin's was not allowed because the whole photo was b&w except for the subject, which I was not sure was a feature on cameras. However, 2CC has already mentioned that it is, so they are eligible to qualify.

Niko_Fx
01-12-2006, 05:12 AM
Mine wasn't a camera feature, so I guess I'm out.

spi-ti-tout
01-12-2006, 08:18 AM
You're not.

I'll say it again.
Some cameras can adjust hue/saturation/colour/brightness and have red/blue/green/boogly/black/sepia etc filters and some don't. This competition was started to give an advantage to all, especially if you can't do any of those features. 2CC said that feature CAN BE DONE on a Canon camera, which means it's a disadvantage to who can't do it, which means that even if you do it digitally on PhotoShop or any other program you still QUALIFY TO BE IN THE COMP.
