now is it just me or do the wing mirrors look a little odd?

now is it just me or do the wing mirrors look a little odd?

They are a departure from the ordinary, but what concerns me is the ergonomics of the new design.

I suspect that the HANS device will make it difficult for the drivers to turn their heads in order to look at the mirrors. And if it wasn't for the HANS device, it will still be difficult to turn your head that much. Mirrors must be at the line of sight of the driver, otherwise they distract his attention.

I was thinking, would it be too complex and weighty to ditch the mirrors and install cameras? After all F1 cars are packed with cameras anyway for TV coverage purposes...

I think the mirrors are out there so the driver doesn't HAVE to turn his head to see them AND be able to see past all the new winglets and chimneys and rear wing element.
