servers been up for 53 mins, but still only the Ai drivers driving on it!
i might give it a go in 10 minutes :)

i can't find the server, doesn't show up on my list:(
which version is it runnin on?
Huzzah, this runs under Cedega, been getting in some practise laps :)
Won't connect to the Master Server tho, trying to figure out why...

No, still can't find it. I have 151 games but none are the UCP one.
Yeah, i'm on the demo server. I even checked if i was seeing everything correct and went into a race, that worked fine. Tried joining a specific game but no joy.
Still no joy. When you say filters all off you mean all set to yes right?

Assuming the server running on YOUR machine ? If yes then you will need to enable the ports LFS uses on your router. The default port is 63392 TCP and UDP.
See http://portforward.com/routers.htm on how to do it for your router.

What's it called and on what server is it ? Can't see the name given before :(
I only have "demo" are you running on it or the S1 or S2 servers ??

its on a demo server, ill just check to see if i can see it...
EDIT: Its defiantley up, make sure all the filters are set to "Yes" theres currently 1 person on the server, its called "Ultimatecarpage.com LFS Server"

Well I can join other games, the UCP game isn't listed and it wont connect when done as a "join named game".
So it must be down to revisions or servers :(
I'm on S2 Alpha 0.5Q and definately on the DEMO host
I'm the same as Matra, i can join other servers (the car park one is fun) but the UCP one simply isn't listed.

yeah that makes it pretty definite.
You dont' ahve yoru router set up to be able to host LFS games.
Follow the steps in http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showpost.php?p=484115&postcount=28 and it will be fine after that
Ok, untill this is sorted out i shall be on live2game.com #1 server that is in the car park. Its mainly destruction derby, quite fun.

eh? Port forwardign will work with any IP as you arent' doing a release then th current IP woudl be fine.
jsut to make sure :) what IP ARE you using ?
If it's the 192.168 one then that's wrong. THAT's your IP on yoru home network. Your router will have it's own IP in teh big wide superhighway internet thingie. THAT's the one the game needs and you port forward to yoru 192.168 IP.
Well that was fun! Quite a bit of carnage and some crazy crashes!

what i follwed the settings implicitly, when it asked for ip i put in 192.168.0.104, should it be different, sorry for being a pain!

I ONLY pointed out that the 192.168 is NOT your IP on the big world outside.
Your router allocated your machine that IP so that it can talk to it on your side of the network. On the big outside the router has it's own IP.
It's probably best not to offer to host if you dont grasp these things as these types of hiccups come up all the time.
If you put in your routers IP address 87.240.153.xxx ( THAT's your current one -- 'cept I've left off the last 3 digits to protect you :D The it will be fine. JUST make sure you port forward to your 192.169 IP of the machine you're running LFS on.

i thought hosting would be easy! how wrong i was! so, out of interest, where DO i put the 87.240.153.??? (i found it out though)? if i put in LFS it wont work and the port forwarding thing says "PRIVATE ip" so im geussing thats also for the 192.168.0.104 Ip
You put your network IP ( which is the one the router has ) into LFS and you set your port forwarding in your router to pass TCP and UDP on 63392 to your 192.168.xxx.yyy machine IP
Do it the other way round so the forwarding is setup before you start up the game
PS: Oh also make sure that yoru firewall isn't blocking the port or the program :D

EDIT: Tryed again and got the message "SetupServerSocket : bind failed"

Some excellent car control to get me out of sticky situations i think you will find. lol
I might put some clothes under my pedals to dull the sound they make on the floor and go back on.

If you're getting that bind error then LFS must try to use the IP given ( it doesnt' really exist on your side of the internet :) ) So either we're missign port forwards ( unlikely ) or you're only supposed to set as "auto". I can't find anything helpful on the LFS site :(
In teh meantime there is a "UCP test" password teamucp game, see if you can see it and join in :D

Any racing going on tonight? I am really in the mood for a thrash around blackwood. Been working on my Luego today so i am in the mood for racing.
