Yeah I heard this was a good plane. The canards make it very manouverable. Sooner or later the technology is going to exceed the physical limits of people.

The Saab type 37 , the "Viggen" was a multi-role from the late 60s and the first with the canard wing like the Gripen. Probably that other one I guess ??
The type 35 was in the 50s and had unusual wing configuration - the Draken - and had GREAT sound in dive :D
The only true "fighter" before the Gripen was from the early 50s the "Lanson".

Yeah, that's true but unless they're robots there's definately going to be a limit to how fast these jets can get. The amount of G's people can go through can only be so much before they black out. This plane is already skirting that limit.

Yup, cheap, light(ish) fast and manourverable. Pretty good combo if you ask me!
