I'm trying to think of something that will ensure that they are "removed" from the roads for a while. There's a very secure car park called "Parksafe" on the same street as our college, everyone with a truly nice car parks there for obvious reasons...

...it's funny to see the "rudeboys" ragging their shopping trolleys around, 'cornering' (if that's what you call it) on almost two wheels and seeing how close they can get to the car in front, then you see something nice come out of Parksafe and just glide down the road, making them look like the tossers they truly are.

We've seen the rice, now let's see the race:

I'd rather not make money and keep them off the road, before they kill someone...they're the sort that cause all the trouble but it's sod's law they don't put themselves 6-feet under but ruin other people's lives when they have an accident.

Gets my vote too, the Falken Skyline is one of the best RB26 powered all-wheel drive race only Skylines ever made.

The JGTC Skylines have always been RWD and the later versions were powered by a twin-turbo stroker version of the VQ35 out of the 350Z. They shouldn't even count...

True, the current Super GT Supras use a NA 4.5L stroker version of the 3UZ-FE V8 from the Lexus SC430.

Some of the old JGTC Supras did infact run the 2.0L turbo inline four cylinder 3S-GTE out of the MR2. The I4 was lighter and set farther back in the chassis, greatly improving weight distribution. These Supras were campaigned in the GT300 class which is limited to approx. 300 bhp.

Wow, what an articulate viewpoint.
The Skyline also weighs so much because it has one of the best high-performance all-wheel drive systems ever made. Works so well in fact, the Skyline caused the closing of several racing series just because here was no competition for it. Even from Mazda.:D

so...are you trying to tell us that a 2.6L engine would weigh down the car? that engine will weigh down the car about as much as a 7.0L engine would weigh down a zonda...if you get what i'm saying...

and its tons. not "tonnes". tonnes is not a word. learn to spell/speak/walk upright.

if you're agreeing with sunce in his bashing of the car, and expecting people to rush to its defense...this is a thread dedicated to skylines. WE were here first. YOU are a bored, sad little shark looking for something, anything that you can try and twist around and crack a joke about.

spill blood in any other thread, and fans of whatever car you are whining about will have the same reaction. mustang fans will have a reaction, exotic fans will have a reaction, and skyline fans will have a reaction. all in the same way. they will not like you.

"Tonnes" is the "non-american" way of saying tons. ;)

And don't start confusing engine displacement with actual engine weight. I don't have any figures on the weight of the engine in the Zonda but I do know the the LS7 (525 bhp 7.0Liter pushrod V8 from the C6 Z06) and accompanying T-56 six-speed transmission only weighs about 60 pounds more than the 13B (255 bhp rotary from the Turbo FD RX-7) and five-speed tranny.

i figured if anyone would say tons, they'd be american, and they should know how to spell their own language...otherwise it'd be kilos :p but if he's not american i can excuse the mix up, english-english and american-english can be very easily confused.

i was using the liter argument because thats what our friend up there seemed to be using, with the RB26 mention. but i think we have the same point...an engine is not going to weigh down a car.

The word ton or tonne is derived from the Old English tunne, and ultimately from the Old French tonne, and referred originally to a large cask with a capacity of 252 wine gallons, which holds approximately 2100 pounds of water. Such a barrel (of any similar volume) is still called a tun in British English, but this usage is dying out.

The modern spelling tonne, almost always referring to the metric ton of 1000 kilograms (or the associated obsolete force unit) when used in non-American English, is a direct borrowing from the French language.
