Heres some drawing i did awhile back, i have more recent ones, but have not scanned any. The first 3 are ones i designed myself and the last is a modified Golf IV.

Here's one I did a while ago, I touched some things up in my art class recently but i'm to lazy to hook the scanner up and scan it again.

And here's a ferrari I did when it was released,

I've tried, its harder than you thing, it takes to long too.

Thats really good johnnynumfiv. looks like you have the perspective down really nicely on both cars.

I know it can look hard at first but it's more rewarding when you can look at the car from all angles and toy with it :)

i was board in study hall the other day so heres what i did (its my own design btw) :
your own design, as in you tweaked a body line a fraction of a millameter from every other F1

your own design, as in you tweaked a body line a fraction of a millameter from every other F1

Why bother with pointless comments like that?

"Oh, you put wheels on, did you come up with that yourself or copy everyone else..."

If you want to criticise, do it properly, rather than just putting people down.

FWA2500
02-11-2006, 06:02 PM
my own design as in without looking at picture, drawing from actual cars, or trying to look like one that is real. sure, the front wing has the extra internal winglet, but how many teams are using that now? a bunch.

besides that, it was done in about 30 minutes, freehand without any rulers or things like that......then the bell for the next class rang...........

if im going to get comments like that which are not constructive, why should i wate my time here?

thanks Leenis, i'm starting working on a project which is a redesign of GRAN TURISMO 4: the Game, the case and a poster. the only thing is, i can only draw a 3D car if someone else gives me the eclipses, and does a drawing with it so i can get perspective right (if that makes sense)
ur drawings are wicked Leenis :D

thats exactly what i do, don't worry, the only class i don't draw cars in has to be P.E  the problem is that i cannot get eclipses right, which means that i can't get the cars right which means it's all rubbish

I like the red one with the rounded roof. They're all good work, but try to keep up some refections in white , where the carbody is rounded. This lets the whole drawing seems to be more 3d. Here an example :

try to visualize a light source at one angle of the car top, bottom, sides and use that to aid with your shading if you need help look at a car magazine and find a good photographer trying to utilize a light source... makes picture more dramatic and realistic.

Just a couple new drawings by me that I drew in about 20 minutes for the 350Z, and 5 for the Audi R10 Road car. Tell me what you think.
I am sorry, its not a personal atack or anything but i do NOT believe you did that in 20 mins...nor the M5 in 20 for that matter. I just dont man, and also, how did you do that grill effect on the M5 (the lower air dam, below the grill with the bmw sign)?

unless i see a video or i assign you something to draw and you post it within an hour, i just wont believe you did those so quick:(

6speed
03-07-2006, 11:28 AM
That's your perogative. How did I do that M5's grille? I take a fine ball point pen, and make dots in a straight line.

If you choose not to believe me, that's ok. But people have seen me draw pretty good drawing and post them in less then two minutes. I think Niko-FX is one of them, and I'm pretty sure a few other people have too.

I may be only 17, but keep in mind, my goal is to really and truly become a automotive designer. It's no pipe dream, it WILL happen. I might not work for a good company, but I'll make it known that I have work when I do.

Also, the drawings of the 3 cars, they hardly anything. If you become skilled enough, you draw rough lines first, shade, then tighten the design. Did you know it only took the lead designer of the Aston Martin DB9 20 seconds to design the car? And I've seen his drawing for it. Very rough but works. Now I'm not saying I'm as skilled as him, but think of it, if he can do a pro design in 20 sec, think of what I can do in 20 min.

Just think about that.

Just colored pencil. I first colored it the main color and then I added white to the places more in the light and black to the darker areas. Prismacolor pencils are by far the best to use as they don't leave very many white spots, although they are quite expensive but well worth it. :) Here's some more of mine. First two are of a Lola T70, I later finished and colored them on photoshop. Next is one of my own designs and the last is one that I did in math class, also of my own design.

EDIT: Just realised that I didn't finish the last one, but oh well. :) Also sorry for the quality of the scannings.
