I started a sketch yesterday called 'Ferraris' at Goodwood' (based on a photo i took) and have spent 4 hours on it so far. i will update everytime i do a decent amount on it. I think i will ruin it when it comes to shading as i am absolutly crap at it!

Please criticise it and make suggestions!

Cheers!

PS - if there are any awesome artists out there please give me hints and tips for example- should i have shaded it all in 1st and then do detail and highlights/ lowlights?

please let me know!

Can barely make it out. Needs colour or edges need to be defined. I would definitely shade it if you aren't already intending on doing that. Make a photocopy or something and practice shading techniques on that so you don't cock up the original :)

just made a copy this minute Exige
cheers!

(you can make it out a bit better if you opy it to paint and invert the colours)

i was just about to say you should do that..... :p
also for the pillars above the wheel on the GTO those need some lines and other various detail lines on the car

update #2 - 6 hours - as promised- started colouring ( my first ever attempt at colourng - i think it shows). I havent pressed down hard enough as it is grainy and the lines need to be more defined and sharpened but that will be different by my next update!.

cheers!

update #3 - 8 hours - more reflections added and tyres almost done( too flat at bottom and to wide), more detail added.

C&C please! (remember, my 1st ever attempt at colouring)

it looks nothing like the refrence pic, but on its own i suppose it looks ok......

It only looks bad when you click on the thumbnail then click the enlarge square in bottom right of pic.
apart from that it looks very very good.

i need to start looking for another pic to draw. I know it is very specific but it has been in my had for a few days. what would be i deal is a 289 hardtop cobra directly facing the 'camera' quite close (only half showing) and another 60s classic sportscar not too far behind but facing right in the background (i like 60s sports cars!). if you do not understand, here is a pic of a plan when i wanted to draw ferraris not cobras. ( any other suggestions welcome - but i would prefer a 60s..........)

cheers!

they are good pics mate (they are in the gallery on a dvd i want to buy sometime). i will consider those. To broaden the search, the cars i like take part in the Goodwood RAC TT Celebration races.

cheers!
