Lastnite I was driving on the turnpike in Miami, FL. I saw a blue Hummer H2 with a double rear axel... the whole car was elongated (a la Tahoe & Suburban). I've never seen anything like it before. Does anyone know if it is a custom job or maybe a production line i had no clue about?

What do you mean "double rear axle"? You mean solid axle front and back?
If it was stretched it was a custom job.

I think he means it had a total of 3 axles, 1 in front for steering, and 2 in back for driving. That would have to be custom.

Sorry for the slight confusion... it has 2 wheels in front, 4 wheels in back. And yes it was a blue/grey or blue/green color... if that guy from Pinks lives in south florida, there is a good chance that it was his. It was actually pretty cool looking.

If it has six wheels and all are driven they're known as a 6x6. Not uncommon, as seen by pic 1 of Landcruiser & Nissan Patrol, pics 3 & 4 are Perentie LRPV (long range patrol vehicle)

Some info

If the 3rd axle isn't driven that's called a 'lazy axle' so if that Hummer was so configured it would be a 6x4. This Ford Falcon (pic 4 & 5) is only driven by the middle axle, so a 6x2

My favourite would be this incredible 14x14  (last pic)

"RFW (Robert F Whitehead) is an Australian specialist manufacturer of all wheel drive trucks.
This eight wheel drive 8x8 RFW truck chassis is towing what became a six wheel drive 6x6 trailer when a second engine and transmission were added to make a 14x14. The trailer unit is computer controlled to keep in-synch with the prime mover. The glamorous unit has a most unglamorous job, having been fitted with specialist equipment for cleaning Queensland sewers!"
