I'd love to see them try the full 1 circuit one year. Would make turn 8 less dangerous, and probably satisfy alot of fans still angry over the AGP going to Melbourne.

Will be alot more dramatic this year though being the first event.

Especially, since the Formula 1 Grand Prix was great in Adelaide and is as boring as hell in Melbourne. Recently, F1 racing has become boring and irrelevant to the vast majority people.

Formula Fords used to be powered by the ancient 1.6 litre Kent OHVs, although they're surprisingly quick devices around a racetrack. I guess its not what you've got - but how you use it ;)

Looks like a great support program too - those great old muscle cars should be grouse to watch, plus plently of biffo from the utes. An unforgiving track so I hope the mini ARCs don't come dramatically unstuck

Ive been to both the F1 and Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and the clipsal is heaps better, more cars on the program and we dont have to drink Fosters:D . Adelaide isn't boring Slicks its exciting, you never know when you will be murdered, put in a barrell and taken to the Snowtown bank. Also Adelaide is the home of the mighty Adelaide Crows, the hot favorites for the 2006 Premiership, the team for ALL south australians.:D

I think the format for Clipsal makes it great as well. Why settle for one 250km race when you can have 2?

Ambrose was replaced with James Courtney. You might remember him from the endouros last year he raced with HRT in the number 2 car with Jim Richards.

Qualifying and Top 10 Shootout results are up.

^^ The only thing I rememeber about Courtney was a big publicity buildup then he crashed at Bathurst debut only a few laps into his first stint while looking at the gauges, got confused by a red light on the dash or something :D

Did he do any other V8 races aside from that?

Well, the race today was great, except I am dead tired right now :)
The main race was good, with plenty of thrills and spills, and you should have heard the Holden fans in the crowd roar when Rusty got a drive-through :P
Lowndsey won at the end of the day (:() but there's still tomorrow :)
Other highlights of the day include somebody rolling a Brute Ute, and the yellow Camaro Z28 in the Muscle Cars class pulling powerslides around the BP Ultimate hairpin :D
I'll upload some of the pics I took tomorrow, I'm too tired now.

Lowndes won :) . Only thing that would've been better from my perspective would've been seeing Whincup pass Rick Kelly.
Anyway, despite the fact I support Lowndes and Revolution doesn't :p , one has to admit it was a good race and I believe the right man won on the day.

I didnt see the race, but something about Skaifes crash still seems odd. In the PR's for the race he clearly states he noticed the car having pretty bad problems around turn 4, where he apparently had to take the service road. If the car was noticeably that bad, why take turn 8 at race speeds when its normally a dangerous corner, rather than limp back to the pits?

Revolution
03-26-2006, 01:02 AM
:( Ford won again.
Still, it was a very exciting race, with plenty of damage. Perhaps the most speccy crash was the big pileup which took out Lowndes, McConville, Courtney and some others. The next biggest was when Murphy crashed on Turn 8, and Skaife ploughed into the back of him, having nowhere else to go.

Nah he said he wasn't going at race speed, It's just when he came around the corner it didn't turn all of a sudden, He said if i was going flat out it would have killed, He thought that was the hardest crash he had.
I think he forgets the eastern creek crash that almost ended his life.

Peter PaP

Ye he wasnt going race speed, it was a full course yellow. That crash in Race 1 seemed to be caused by a loose wheel nut. The crew worked on it all night to get it ready for Race 2 only to have Skaife get caught in Greg Murphys mistake on turn 8 leaving Skaife behind nowhere to go. So thats 2 DNF's no points for Skaife in round 1, thats a bit of bad luck if you ask me :(

*cough pics revolution cough*
