First a short clip from the Nürburgring of Stefan Bellof at the qualification lap that is still the fastest qual time on the `ring(?) 6m11sec.:eek:

And then the inboard video from Jacky Ickx overtaking Bellof at spa, resulting in the fatal crash that kills Stefan Bellof..

A very talented man. Wonder how far Bellof would have reached,if he had been given some more time...

that second clip is quite intense. it may not be suitable for all :(

indeed.

averaging 120mph over 13 miles of twisty road. he was a great talent and i didn't realise he was so young :(

Just shows what advances have been made in safety over the years; all these F1 rookies crash at that speed, skip out of the car and swagger off to the pits to pick up chicks, not realising just how damn lucky they are.

However, it does mean that tragic scenes like this are extremely unlikely...

Anyone has a link to the accident from outside?

I'm guessing Bellof went side by side on eau rouge with Ickx not being able to see him.

He tried to overtake on a place where nobody ever tries. And with good reason...
