Hmmmm you can just see it goin through those dust roads

If you've seen at home with the kumars on BBC the guy makes a brill joke bout how when your driving in Bangladesh or somewhere like that you have to be really careeful when driving at night as when you see one headlight you can't be sure if its a scooter, two scooters joined with only one light working, then theres the possibilty that It might be some massive lorry with only one light:s

So with a Lotus hmmm would i really trust driving it on those roads:p

Are all those cars from Bangladesh???? I'm impressed. Did you take the pics with a phone?

scion_shibli
03-22-2006, 01:29 PM
some pics were taking with a phone and some with diggie cams.

And yes these cars are fm bangladesh. this is just hardly 1% of all the exotics and modded cars on the streets of dhaka.

Sorry, but I don't think that's actually an M5. :) Generally pretty nice cars though.

I am 99% sure that this is not an M5, merely a 5 series with an M body kit.
Attached are two photos which show two traits which are found only on the M5, not regular 5-Series, and neither are shown on the vehicle in question. The M5 badge on the rear is quite easy to buy, but an M5 comes stock with the two features I describe here. Unfortunately your friend does not have a true M5.

scion_shibli
03-24-2006, 04:22 AM
sauc yeah your right on that one.
thats a 2005 5 Series with M kit.i dont think i would use the word unfortunate though. he just got a rolls royce phantom for himself. he is only 23.
2 M5's have arrived here in dhaka, and i should have pictures soon.

No offense, but how do people do to get rich in such a poor country?

scion_shibli
03-28-2006, 01:07 PM
well none taken. But i think most people are ignorant about the developing countries.Bangladesh is developing and we have people whose forefathers have been rich for the last 5-6 generations. The economic condition is as good as india.
The garments sector is booming alongwith other industries as well. The cars you see are only a small percentage of what we have here.Discovery channel is here to shoot on the car scene, and those guys cant believe what they are seeing. So if you think this country is poor think again.

Not all developing countries are so well off, i am currently in Sierra Leone, and no new cars are for sale at all, it is a dumpyard for second hand french and japanese cars, mostly originating from Belgium and Holland. The closest thing I saw to a supercar was a battered BMW 850, while there was also one Range Rover Sport moving around, probably owned by an international donor agency, and representing a value that exceeds the combined annual salary of all government ministers by far....

I said "no offense".

The garments sector is booming
European people know that...

the economic condition as good as india
Isn't 60 percent of the country regularly flooded?

scion_shibli
03-31-2006, 06:03 AM
no actually it is not flooded. i havent seen flooding like that in the four years that i have been here. bangladesh has lots of rivers and they tend to overflow with heavy rains, but that effects the low areas.Major parts of the country are unaffected by the floods. The most affected are the poor people and that is sad.

Latifa, thank you for posting the pictures of those cars. Obviously, developing countries like Bangladesh, India and China are improving in terms of living standards, increasing average/mean incomes etc... Unfortunately, the many very poor countries in Africa are not improving (those African countries are becoming worse :( )

Thanks for your concern and reply. In south-East Asia, our country could do more better if our law and order situation could be better and if there were no political support and influence from out side of the country.

If they stopped their stupid wars and conflicts, the economic development *might* be a bit faster.

Hello People... isn't Bangladesh near the Middle East? Think of it this way... running out of oil soon, not a very high probability.

And sorry to sound rude and all, but I see Hummers everday. I hate them. They are for the Soccer Mom with bragging cred. Not for the car enthusiast. Also most of these cars aren't even exotics. They're just sports sedans and sports coupes.

I'm truly sorry if I sound rude, but I am glad that you decided to share your photos with us:).

No it isn't.

It isn't hard to find a map, seconds via google etc., yet you just make yourself look ignorant, and potentially offend people at the same stroke by not taking the time to bother.

Maybe if you spent less time posting, and more time thinking, people might have a better opinion of you.

Better get on the phone and tell them then.

I'm sure millions of Africans will be kicking themselves when they find out it is that simple.

Maybe... I apologize for any mistake I made. At least I was right about the sports sedan's and sports coupe theory.

The point of my post was the explanation of why Africa is developing slower than Asia. I'm neither blind nor deaf, I know Africa's major problems.

No my car was sporty type, but, in our country we have all kind of cars. Most of the time people like to by normal Toyota colorra. And for your information, we are prefering to use gasoline instead of fuel. It is good to increase the level of kowledge all time.
