in other news, I saw a VZ 6lt Caprice today, quick and sounded nice, could hear it over the work truck. Its ADF 1, i thought he'd be flying himself round in a chopper

I herd on the LS1 that some Ex holden employees when shown the door stole some pictures of the VE's in full ready to go, But of course when handed to Wheels i think it was they wouldn't dare tangle with holden and show these pictures, As they said Holden can hurt them in many ways other then just suing them.

Holden wouldve dumped alot of their design staff so that makes sense slick. Ford are probably kicking themselves, between BA, Territory, Indian Fiesta, BF and Orion, theyve probably had to hire more design staff. Theyre hoping after Orion, Detroit hands something else their way after the Indian Fiesta was a success

Sure: the roofline is similar to an A6 or Passat, and the overhangs are reminiscent of the last Passat. the general shape of the headlights and grill kinda remind me of the last Passat as well. The smooth sides, which lack a rub strip, also remind me of the A6. Thats what I see anyhow.

Its a common view, dont worry about it. Both Holden and Ford are chasing Audi-influenced designs for their next cars.

I think if any car has less of another it's the Statesman, It's the Commodore that will most resemble a Small Audi influence.
But also they have had a Big thing about Audi Holden they have always loved there cars, Which is how the new Torana came about they seen the Torana and Audi having something in common over the years, Big engine power medium size body.
But on the pics you got to take into account the artist sticking some other parts in there from god knows where. But if anyone remembers the Statesman out testing in the camo gear, If you look back on that you can see the Flauard guards front and rear, So i dont think that pic is far off it, Maybe it's to short that about it and lights maybe and it's skin might be almost right but we have to wait, But if wheels does have pics of them they cant be sued for having a artist draw it:D

I think we can put the passat to bed here, It's got more in common with Audi then Holden has going here, Also it's rear looks ALFA like.

Its not the look that was reminiscent of the Passat though, more the dimensions such as overhangs, wheelbase etc. Which IMO is spot on. The Stato there looks narrow compared to some of the others...

Yeah i think they made it look short in the pics, Compared to the spy pics we seen it's much longer but them guards do look like the spy pics.

hmmm....Holden tends to do a terrific job on their long wheelbase vehicles...Im expecting a very sexy VE statesman at the end of the year. I just hope that it doesnt resemble Euros too much....while they look nice and all, Holden needs to find their own signature design...not audi's.

the rear of that statesman looks nice, still holden theme to it but the front? i mean come on

I remember when the Caprice had the big chrome grills, Now the Statesman gets it and the caprice gets a darker one, I can't wait for the caprice with it's more sporty looks, And if that is anything to go by the rims might be 18" for Caprice.

But those proportions are purely disgusting and they actually seem to have very little in common with the VE I persoally will have to see that one in the metal before i believe thats what it looks like.....thats my 2cents and i think my dinner wants to revisit after seeing that.
