ok here is the story i told some of you along time ago...

it was late 2001, around october/november and i was driving home from school one day and i saw a gold carrera gt. in 2001 it wasn't even close to being in america so all this time i had assumed it was some sort of concept demo car maybe, i really had no idea how it was there. mind you i saw it from about 100-150 yards away.

and i never saw it again...until 2 weeks ago, and this time i drove right by it.....like 10 feet away. And i died laughing...literally...now go look at my link and this is exactly what i saw:p :p :p :p :p

There was only 1 company who truly made great Carrera GT replicas and got them extremely close as the North American Turnkey Diablo replicas did to the real thing.

However, I can't find the link anymore, and all I know is the company only made 9 replicas.

Anyone who drives any sort of replica car (except like Lotus 7's and the like) is just a sad person in my eyes. Go real or go home. PArticulary that one. Its rubbish!

You meant go real or go to hell, I don't think the owner's family members will accept that!! :D

It's like Toyota MR2 and Opel Speedster melt down together with a Porsche badge.

I don't understand why to make a ridiculous copy of a well known car (no one that knows something about cars would think of that as real), when one could make something different and totally original.

Fiero's will not die. They just get turned into bastard exotics.

what about the GT40 replicas? :) they're all nicely done here in NZ....

about the CGT kit... it kinda look like a cgt :D but it looks more like a toy rather than a car :D

i'm thinking about getting one from a local company, imo they look fine:) but then it is a replica of an old car, whereas the CGT replica is of a contemporary car..i don't know why but for some reason i think that makes the CGT replica more stupid :D
also the GT40 replica's have performance close to the original's, which helps :D

Every GT40 kit I've seen has been as good as the original in style, construction and performance :D
The Lancia Stratos kit is AN EXACT COPY of the original.
Many Stratos owners are fitting the kit parts when their's breaks :D
Cobra replicas are often BETTER than original as they use more modern components and suspension geometries and engine/drivetrains.

There IS a class of "replica" though that sucks and it seems to all centre around the Pontiac Fiero. With one exception EVERY one I've ever seen is hideous and perorms even worse ( the exception was a Ferrari whcih from abtou 20 yds looked passable .... but you got close and it was obvious if you knew Ferrari. Off course you started it up adn just laughed !!!
