View Full Version : Scottish Sighting Of The Rare Subaru Impreza 22B
Hey guys, just thought i'd let you see what i saw today.
The Subaru Impreza 22B, what a beast it was, very noisy. Pulled into a fuel station and i immediately ran over and got pics, i couldnt actually believe what i was seeing. As quoted from a book i have :
"To Celebrate these triumphs just 424 replica's of his impreza 22b sti have been built for sale mostly on the japanese market. Britain has been allocated a mere 16 examples of it!!!!!!!"
OK so now the pics

I'd hate to have my car's number plate plastered all over the internet.

Oh noes, Imageshack links.
There was a 22B for sale at the local Isuzu/Subaru garage, looked so mean.

Does anyone know what these last two are?

The first one I think is a Wolseley, probably a 1500, which was introduced in 1957. The second one is a Volkswagen Type 3 fastback, manufactured from 1961 to 1974. They were also available as sedans or wagons. They had rear-mounted engines, and were probably based on the Beetle. Someone else might be able to give you more info.

You should upload them with the UCP system..
You should also look into blocking number plates out.

That is still the best looking Impreza in my opinion, none of the recent designs have come close to topping it. Nice pics.

is the 22B just a 2 door version of a sti?

It's specially modified. It holds reverence with the Anorak Brigade.
And in case you didn't get the message - Please use the Attachement system for future uploads.

i should kick you in the nuts..
the 22B is uber special.
22 stands for the 2.2 litre engine
they say there are many meanings for the B, but from what i understand it is stands for bilstien suspension (also in the designation of the liberty GT-B)
its HOT flared arches and high wing are main points of style changes :)
