The Koenigsegg CCR is a mid-engined sports car manufactured by Koenigsegg. It briefly held the world speed record for a production car and is currently the fourth fastest production car in the world, behind the Bugatti Veyron, SSC Ultimate Aero and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

Debuting at the 2004 Geneva Auto Show, the CCR is quite similar to the CC8S and like its predecessor it features dihedral synchro-helix actuation doors. It has, however. various improvements. An upgraded body with a larger front splitter for optimized downforce, tweaked headlight arrangement and revised rear end. New larger tires and wheels equipped with larger brakes. Upgraded suspension and a more powerful engine with twin Rotrex compressors, producing 806 PS (593 kW; 795 hp) at 6900 rpm and 920 N·m (680 lb·ft) of torque at 5700 rpm.

To honour the Swedish Fighter Jet Squadron No. 1, (Johan röd) which had occupied the current facility of Koenigsegg, the CCR is adorned with a symbol of a ghost, the symbol of the squadron.

Ok man, sheesh, It was ok on one topic but what's your point? I posted the pics instead of linking, so people would have an easy place to see them. If there are other sites with the pics, then what's the point of attaching pictures here in the first place? :confused:

Sorry for reviving this somehwat old topic ... but I have that pic in desktop size, and also have a request for high res pics of some of low res pics in the image gallery of the Koenigsegg website ...

Here's the desktop sized pic
[img=http://img95.exs.cx/img95/3901/t7bkoenigseggcopy.th.jpg] (http://img95.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img95&image=t7bkoenigseggcopy.jpg)

And the pics I would LOVE to see in high res would basically be the "Blue CCR 2004, silver CC8S - at Koenigsegg facilities", "2003 model - home region in southern Sweden by Claes Axstål", "2002 model - In The United Kingdom by Graphic Techniques" and the "2001 model - Courtesy of EVO, UK, photos by Colin Curwood" series. I know that's a bunch, but they are so beautiful I have to ask everywhere! :) Thx in advance! :)

this is what I find wierd in the Guiness book of world records. It says the McLaren F1 holds the rerord for the worlds fastest production car. The Mclaren F1 can go 242 mph, the koenigsegg can go 245mph. Why isn't the koenigsegg listed as the fastest production car.....?

Because the McLaren was driven at that speed by Martin Brundle at VW-Testtrack Ehra-Lessien in Germany, but nobody tested out the Koenigsegg by now. That is only a theoretical number. It's like the Ferrari Enzo, everybody said it would go about 350kph and then there was a big test at Nardo/Italy (against SLR, CGT, Murciélago etc) and it went 361kph.

Andy Wallace was driving the car that went into the record books at 386km/h, but actually went 391.

The thing about Guinness records is that they need to be independantly verifieyed/ measured.

The CCR could do 400mph, but if they don't fill in the requisite forms and get the proper time/ speed recordings then it won't be official, and it won't be in the book.

A few days ago a standard CCR has officially driven a speed of 387.87 km/h on the Nardo speedtrack. But it must be possible to drive even faster because the Mclaren did the 386.70 km/h on a 9 km straight track. So Lorus Biocchi (Koeningsegg) thinks he might be able to get to 395 km/h on a straight track.
