Eric Clapton’s guitar and Miles Davis’ trumpet feature in a new exhibition dedicated to great artists and their Ferrari cars

Maranello (Italy) April 21st 2006 – Stars from the world of music will feature alongside four-wheeled automotive legends from Ferrari at the Galleria Ferrari this summer with a themed exhibition bringing together famous names to the home of the Prancing Horse. The latest exhibition entitled ‘La Ferrari e la musica’ (Ferrari and the music) has just opened and runs until 30 June 2006.

Singers and performers from all over the world who were attracted to Ferrari’s racing heritage, and loved the style of the road cars, have expressed this admiration in their songs and videos. With three rooms entirely dedicated to the exhibition, the Galleria Ferrari pays tribute to the link between Ferrari and artists who left their mark on the world of music.

More than thirty international music artists and their representatives accepted the invitation to participate: Italian singer and song-writers as well as world-renowned artists from the most important musical genres: classical, opera, jazz, rock and pop music.

These artists contributed to the event by placing their portraits and some of the most meaningful symbols of their artistic careers at Ferrari’s disposal including musical instruments, awards, costumes and other personal items: Miles Davis’ trumpet, Placido Domingo’s Othello scene costume, Nick Mason’s world tour instruments, the famous crazy hat of Jay Kay (Jamiroquai), Eric Clapton’s and Per Gessle’s (Roxette) guitars are amongst the items on display.

Visitors to the Galleria Ferrari will have the opportunity to see close up a selection of Ferrari cars belonging to these artists, such as the Enzo Ferrari, the 250 California, the 275 GTB and many other new and old models.

Throughout the exhibition, in the projection room of the Galleria Ferrari, visitors will have the opportunity to see a special screening of videos including ‘Cosmic Girl’ by Jay Kay (Jamiroquai), ‘Supreme’ by Robbie Williams and ‘Material Girl’ by Madonna as well as showing the unique collection of Ferrari cars.

The Galleria Ferrari in Maranello, located near the factory and the Fiorano track, is open every day, including bank holidays from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. From 1 May 2006 the Galleria Ferrari will be open until 7:00pm for the summer season.
