Gallardo, the better car.
Diablo, the better Lamborghini.

Not the biggest Lambo fan, I'd rather get the Ferrari in this price range, but Gallardo between these two.

Diablo for moi (but not the one pictured, the >1999 models with the lights). Those are real nice plus they have a V12 engine...:D

Murcielago please.
They're much more expensive than Diablos and Gallardos. You can get a Diablo for as little as £30k now. You can get a top of the range Diablo (non-GT of course) for about £75k.

If price is a factor here and I HAVE to choose out of the two here, gimme that Diablo please. Lamborghini V12's are just so...mmmm! :)

Why did more people pick the Gallardo over the Diablo? I think we need more pictures to show people how the Diablo is so much better than the Gallardo...

its quite a random question,,,,i guess price puts them close............Gallardo.

The Diablo, it's the ultimate pinup supercar. And one with pop-up headlights.

Because some people think that because a car is newer, it is always better and because it is worth more now, it is better. These are the same people who are probably too wimpy to drive a Gallardo, let alone the Diablo but choose the Gallardo because it has softer seats and softer air conditioning so it doesn't mess up their hair.

Yes then there are others who heard the diable is impossible to drive..and they want to use the thing cause God knows it's not exactly spare change...

I VOTED DIABLE BTW...:)

Murcielago is a great car. The Gallardo is not nearly as grand, but it is far more able than the showy Diablo. Why, if the Diablo is such a good car does is its resale value in the drain? Maybe because it's just a pin-up car and not a great car to own.

Unreliable, difficult to drive and expensive to keep functional all keep it from being a great car. Built like the Countach without improvements in ergonomics and durability from it's 70's counterpart, makes it less of a supercar and more of a super-relic.

Diablo is perfect for those who lust after pin-ups.:p

Great post. Sadly, this is the downside of the Diablo.

They had major clutch problems, and are the most painful car to drive on busy streets. Constant shifting can cause awful aches in your arms, and with such a large engine behind you, you can have a tendancy to lose hearing for a while after a ride.

While terrific cars if you can keep 'em in tip-top shape, the cost of this is a lot more than the price of a used one given you own over 5 years.

I know a few Diablo owners, however, every single one uses the Diablo as a show car or sunday driver. None of them find it a great everyday car, and driving it everyday just means getting closer to the next check up.

You have to remember, Lamborghinis are cars that need constant check ups and only a few owners will go all the way with a Diablo or any pre-Diablo models to make sure they run in excellent condition.

The Gallardo is the choice of Lamborghini today b/c of its sheer options, and that the maintenance of the Gallardo is not that high for the average owner.

This is a hard decision. The Diablo is possibly the most famous supercar. It's the first name that pops into anyone's head when they think fast cars. The Diablo is a legend. Despite all that though, I would choose the Gallardo simply because its production is supervised and influenced by Audi. I believe it's by far the more reliable of the two.

I voted for the wrong one by accident. I really like the Gallardo more. Especially with the GT3R kit from Reiter Engineering. :D

tough decision, both are fantastic cars. gallardo rocks, even though its not as powerful as the diablo but then its not supposed to be. the diablo is very special & is one of my favourites. most people will recognise it but when some people see the gallardo they will be like: whats that car??

ill take the gallardo coz i think that it mat be better on track than the diablo. plus it has 500hp (2000 diablo has 492hp) & a topspeed of 196 mph (9 miles slower) & its cheaper than than the bentley GT, f430 & db9, its more than enough for me.

No ... its a supercar, thats why. I think you'll find the Murcielago has depreciated more in a shorter amount of time ;)

Actually, the Gallardo and the base Diablo are nearly the same.
Gallardo: 500Hp
Diablo: 492Hp

It wasn't until 1999 that the Diablo (fixed Headlights) recieved 530Hp.
The 1st SV was only 510Hp, and the 2nd gen. was the same as the '99 Diablo.

I'm suprised fezza_twat hasn't been on here yet.

Ypou lfot is weel batty - Maranello will own all you Lamborghini owning pussys. COma and say that to me face yeah.

Seriously though, that's a really hard question. If I was allowed a Diablo SE30, then it would have to be that. Otherwise, a Gallardo.
