Yeah, that was a coupla weeks ago now. A good direct comparison there. I didn't get why they didnt use the Mk2 MX5

I think the point was to compare with the original concept. Besides, the MK2 is not that different from the MKI. Just a little more rigidity and bigger wheels.

For a marginal difference because the platform is basically the same. It's heavier too. But not much.

in the latest EVO they do this comparsion and even one between the differnet specs of mk3.

they reckon that the mk3 has no where near as exploitable chassis as the mk1 or 2.

they also reckon that the 1.8 mk3 is a real handful with buckets of oversteer just when you least expect it. better look out for hairdressers going off right, left and centre :)

I read it with excitment and I was surorised to see they consider an MKI 1.6 more exploitable than a MKII 1.8. Now I just need the LSD of the Eunos they tried, since mine doesn't have it. :(

MkI had ~120 hp and the MkIII has more than 170, without too much of a weight penalty. Possibly the Mark 3 was showroom fresh, so the casting material on the tires hadn't even been burned off. Thus the spins?
