That rear is about as inspiring as a bowl of porridge *yawn*

The pic on page one is a test mule, basically the current car with a disguised body. The GT-R concept due for '09 looks different.

That rear is about as inspiring as a bowl of porridge *yawn*Isn't that just a G35 body? Albeit with some modifications to fit the GTR's bulk into it. Which, come to think about it, isn't necessarily a good sign...

Indeed it is...;) The article said: "The car in the photo obviously uses Infiniti G35 coupe sheetmetal, substantially modified to fit huge tires and a large front air dam."

What's the point if it's just going to be a heavier G35?

uh, well, the GTR logo usually means a lot more weight, for all the electronic 4wd stuff and for the price its really doubftul they´ll be using a lot of weight reducing technology and materials. and i don´t think nissan will be as serious as chevy with the z06, you know, go to the extent of making an aluminium chassis and the balsa wood floor and stuff.

Well Nissan have quite the reputation to live up too with the GTR and it has been in development for a while so I'd expect pretty big things with it.

Guys, you have stop just looking at the photos and start reading the content...;) This is clearly a mule: some kind of hybrid to test driving gear and engine on a current production model.

The article said: "The car in the photo obviously uses Infiniti G35 coupe sheetmetal, substantially modified to fit huge tires and a large front air dam. The real GT-R will look a lot like the Nissan GT-R Proto concept that debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show" and also "Britain’s Cosworth is helping Nissan extract more than 450 horsepower from the upcoming 3.7- or 3.8-liter V-6 while still meeting emissions laws."

So, no, it's not going to be just a heavier G35 (or 350Z).

Quite common practise in the car industry holden sent down a VZ with a genIV driveline in it and sent that car as well as 2 other test mules pretty much right round the country testing its durability

And Nissan wouldent go to the extent of the chev seeing as how its more then likly going to have a garden varity version lurking around too:rolleyes:
