Hey peeps!

I have heard that there are going to be 6 global premieres at this years British (London) Motor Show at excel. One of which is the New Vauxhall Corsa.

I have heard a few rumours that the new BMW M3 3/5 door is also going to be launched aswell as the Range Rover Stormer.

Just wondered if any of you know of anything different or know exactly what the other 5 are that are being launched.

Adios

...aswell as the Range Rover Stormer.
Isn't that the Sport?
I know the concept was a coupe though, are they still making a coupe? There is nothing more stupid than a 2-door SUV.

I wouldn't say that. The original Chevrolet Blazer, the Ford Bronco, the Dodge Ramcharger (and its little known twin, the Plymouth Trail Duster), and several others were all 2-doors, and they did pretty well. Although, on the other hand, none of them are still around, so maybe you have a point .

Ramcharger...lmao

I don't see the badness in a 2 door SUV. Shorter Wheel Base = Better off-roading capabilities.

Its going to be in excel and im sorry to say but i fear it wont be what its being hyped up to be, duno last time they hyped every thing up and it didnt live up to expectations.

Hmmmm well if there are some more cool concepts might make it better than the last few years.

Im there 28th July! Got tickets just yesterday. The motoring theatre 'show' should be good. The remake of Romeo and Juliet but with cars lol:D

Well the new Mini launch is some inside info I got from the Mini Factory in Oxford, when I went with a small group from my school. Me and my friend saw the shape of a Mini under a cover, and asked one of the factory workers if it was the new Mini, he wouldnt say anything, he just smerked and smiled, and did a quick nod. He whispered that we'd see it in late july lol

Here's my shots from Tuesday. I'm not particularly happy with the photos but the cars that were there were amazing.

Here's a link to all the photos we took that day: http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/871/1.html

It doesnt look half as good as the NEC motorshow. I'll never understand why they moved it to london. the stands look bland and boring. The NEC was about design and impression it was a realy interesting place to be. But that looks like the inside of a showroom.

Pinin
07-25-2006, 04:28 AM
Yep, exactly what you said. For a big International Motorshow it was pretty disappointing, and the stands were nothing special either. But there were still some very nice cars around that you could sit in, etc. Btw have you get a new camera yet?

Merrill, I was using a 20D with 18-55.

The NEC had that incredible 50s diner too. Finding accomodation in London is horrible too .. it's either expensive or smells of urine. Birmingham is no paradise but atleast they have a half-decent travel lodge. Bring back the NEC :(

Shame you didn't get any interior pics for the Sagaris. The one at the motorshow is the updated version with non-side exit exausts and a modified interior which is now going to be sold in America.

I want the motorshow back at the NEC aswell, easier to travel to, not only for me, but for most other people because of its central position in the country. London is just too far for me to travel at 15.

www.megabus.com (http://www.megabus.com) prices started from £1:D :D

Oh and I just checked, from Birmingham to London with Megabus, its £10. Im sure a 15 year old can stretch to see some of the cars that are at the motorshow!

no the noble wasnt there on the saturday.

there was a sign on the floor that said "Sorry had to take the Noble out for the day, The Stig"

Had to fight my way through people to get those pics of the rapide.

I wasnt going to wait in line just so i could walk on stage and look at them. I got to sit in the new V8 vantage at motorexpo so i'm happy with that.

No, it's the Invicta S1-600 according to the placard. V8 engine, 0-60 MPH in 3.8 seconds, 200+ MPH top speed, cost: 127,660 Euros.

Great pics all around, looks like it was an awesome show.

Thanks, everyone. Yeah they were taken on the the press day, Canuck. I probably wouldn't have even bothered going if I had to go on a public day. I just realised I never got any Azure shots:eek: I will try and get the rest of my pics up tomoz, when I have more time...I managed to sit in the TVR Tuscan, the blue one that was at the back on the TVR stand. rather nice! but one hell of a bugger to get in and out of when you are 6ft 4 and are meatier than Clarkson. I also sat in the new Corsa, it felt quite comfortable...too bad I got the Swift...mwahahaha...BRERA just felt like a lil monster eager to hit the road, despite it not moving or having the engine running...I just got the feeling when I got in, the tightness gave the impression of a rocket...I LIKE IT.:D

Yeh that same sign was there when I went...but it was genuinely taken by Top Gear, not just there for the sake of it. I saw other pics of the M15 being there at the beginning of the week, and if you look carefully, the registration matches up to the one that went round the Top Gear track.

That's because it's the only M15 in existence. ;)

I was a tad suprised that they let Top Gear loose on the car because a) obviously if they stack it it's the one and only car in existence and is used as a development and testing car. They's be screwed without it, and b) it's by no means the finished article by all accounts. Apparently it still doesn't have the ABS, traction and stability controls that Noble is developing for the car.

Still, it got rave reviews by TG so I guess it's done its job of helping to fill the order book for the next year or two.
