This is a Video of me at the newly paved HPT Roadcourse. The camera car is my buddy Branden (one of the best autocrossers in Kansas City) he is in a Modded WRX STI. The other modded STI that goes off course is another amazing Autocrosser named Angel. I am obviously in the Red 93 Viper.

Nice track too.
Loved the noob error in the Evo :D
yeah, trackdays'll cost in clutches, brakes and transmissions :(
Had a good one yesterday where a 450Hp EVO ripped a driveshaft. So between timed runs, he swapped one out of a road going EVO for his fastest TOD :D Don't get that option with an Alpine :(

Very nice, although the STI tends to be faster in corners. :)

Nice driving! :)

The video quality is very good, almost professional. What camera and mount, do you know?

The guy that went off the track was in an STI. He is really a good driver (got 4 out of 120 in the last autocross event) He just was pushing it really hard. I am not sure about the camera mount in the other STI. I'll have to ask him.

The Camera car STI is modded someone told me it put down around 400 wheel HP. I know he has a Turbo map, race suspention and the car comes with R rated tires but don't know much else about it.

yeah, trackdays'll cost in clutches, brakes and transmissions :(Transmission? Are you serious? Do they actually only last for a couple of races? They need to put those trannys on some Viagra or something because that's just ridiculous. There no point in racing then if they only last a couple of races. If the races had money involved then it might be worth it.

Does anyone know if there is any autocross place where they have prize money or give money to winners? Can the drivers put up bids for who wins and whoever wins first place takes all?

I like the Viper.
That STis AWD didn't even come in handy by the looks of it since the Viper had no trouble cornering. Seems like AWD just slowed the STi down.

That was awesome. I found myself holding my breath when he passed the C6. I had no clue that a Subaru could do that, it completely caught me off guard.

Not EVERY couple of races, but don't do serious track time and expect it all to sruvice.
Synchcromesh can take a REAL beating, especially on off-camber, undulating twisty tracks where you need to use teh gears a lot and maintina the car balance. Also quick clutchless upchanges are only for those prepared to strip and rebuild every year :D
I'm not talking pussy-footing around, I mean pushing hard as some of the cars in the vid were.
ALSO, put lots of rubber on teh drive wheels and teh forces in the driveshafts and diffs have just doubled in some cars. Again, don't expect a "standard" setup to survive withotu needing somethign fixed :D

THey're not racing, it was TRACKDAYS we were talkgin about.
Now if you're RACING then you are acceptign that if you run "production class" cars then you need to repair and replace regularly. THAT is why there are production, modified production and prototype classes :D
BUT it's down to the drier.
You can chose to run a season in club competition and enjoy yourself and come in teh top 10.
IF you want to win tho' you need to pu a bit more into it in termsn of upgrades and the attendant repairs when necessary.
It's liek your PC. You may be happy with it. You may want to over clock it to get faster than your mates. BUT if you dont uprate the processor fan then expect to have to change processors regulalry when they overcook IF you run processoir heavy apps ( like gaming ) :D !!

In the UK, their isnt' a pro autocross circuit unless you go to rallycross - includes section of gravel. THe top formula is the only one with a decent purse, but expect to have to invest >£100,000 on a one-off modofied 4x4 to win !! ( ex WRC cars are the STARTING point for these guys to modify for more power and better transaction and handling, an unmodified one will always come last -- to give an idea odf the level of competition !! )

Turns out to be my rear end not my tranny. Which really sucks because an "expert" mechanic told me it was my tranny so I bought a used one. Anyone interested in a 93 viper tranny?

It depends a lot on the driver.
