what processor do you have in your computer?

What have you got to go with your 9GB of ram and no DVD drive?

AMD Duron, its pretty good...but it's aging so I'm thinking of getting an Athlon 64.

You need a new motherboard first. A64 is S939 and Duron isn't. :D

Consider yourself a 3700+ San Diego or X2 4400+ Toledo, or even FX-57. Those are great overclockers..........well.......only if you know how to. :D

If you know how to overclock, a 3700+ SD will make you happier than ever. :)

wow what an interesting thread! I have a P4 2GHz but I'm thinking to build a new computer for CATIA V5 R16

I'm shure that for the future 64bit is a must, but I don't know which processor or processors buy. Dual opteron, Dual xeon, Dual core opteron or xeon (very expensive and I don't know if there are 64bit xeons), or a simple pentium D is enough for running Catia reasonably well?

Any experts out there, I have no idea what to choose!
