Abt AS6: Power pack supreme
When the Audi A6 bi-turbo leaves the factory in Ingolstadt it is by no means a faint-hearted automobile. At Abt Sportsline in Kempten the mid-class model undergoes a power treatment in the extreme. Afterwards, the Abt AS6 can hold its own against a sportscar.
"Now thatīs a power pack!" is a phrase often heard after customers climb aboard the AS6 for an ultimate driving experience. 265 kW (360 hp) with maximum torque of approximately 510 Newtonmetres guarantee impressive acceleration from the lowest of. The result: driving performance at a sportscar level. The standard Audi 2.7 bi-turbo rolls off the production line with 169 kW (230 hp).
Super Touring Car champion and DTM driver Christian Abt himself, took a personal role in finding a top suspension set-up for the AS6. In his own words: "The AS6 is fantastic. Weīve done a great job on this car." Aside from an increase in power, the AS6 also features a new suspension set-up which, thanks to a sports suspension, lowers the vehicle by up to app. 35 millimetres.
The increase in driving performance is also complemented by the addition of an Abt sports brake system. The front axle now features four-piston fixed callipers instead of the standard two-piston fixed callipers. Abt provides perforated discs in addition to the internally ventilated discs of the standard car.
To ensure firm road grip Abt provides eight different sport rims. The range goes from type A11 with the size 8 x 17 inch up to the top model: the 9 x 19 inch rim A27. Of course every rim is available with fitting tyres.
Abt Sportsline also offers a programme which takes the sportive look into the cockpit: For example with the Abt aluminium shift knob, the Abt floor mats and the exclusive interior made of fine napa leather.
