I was still standing there when he fired the 917 up...

The 911 RSR was probably one of the loudest cars there.

BRM nicked from the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.

Your man there nearly binned the F310B after happening upon a damp-patch towards the top of the hill.

The people from Honda had put everyone else to shame by actually having some sort of organisation to their area of the paddock.

They'd even bought carpet!

The ruthlessly efficient german technicians from Audi attempting to smoke out a path through the crowds as their R10 wasn't loud enough to scare people out the way like every body else's car.

Ahh, the days when Alfas drove as well as they looked...

Lamborghini put themselves to shame by sticking their concept car next to a bunch of extremely good looking genuine Miuras. Oops!

The Phantom Corsair looked stunning, apart from the large dent in the front.

I don't know who caused the dent, but whoever it was must feel a little bit silly.

Yellow XKR; subtle it isn't.

Some joker in the organisation department stuck the Caparo and the Hulme next to each other.

It was a shame that people were in the way, probably wondering why they were all suffering from double-vision.

Connought Syracuse - a car so fast it arrived before its own interior.

Rene Arnoux - stalling a Megane.

The Panhard, a glorious reminder of the days when F1 racing technology meant steering components crafted from what appeared to be a piece of broom-handle, tied on with string.

These days you need a van full of mechanics to follow your F1 car about.

You took those?

They're Great!

Best vehicle there by far - the Transit.

Of course, this being Goodwood, it has the chassis and running gear from a Jag XJ220, and skipped up the hill like a scalded cat.

It was probably faster than the Bugatti...

Alfa bought almost the entire contents of its museum by the looks of things.

Which was nice.

Shame they were ousted from outside the House by Renault, who didn't have much by comparison.

At least the crowds weren't so bad, so you could actually see the Alfas.

If I were feeling unkind, I'd make some sort of underhand comment about how, like their cars, Ferrari's toolkits can often be seen on the back of a flatbed trailer...

The T400R is probably the only modern car that can stand up against such beautiful classics.

It really has lovely shapes and details going on.

Apparently, George Lucas was there on Friday.

Perhaps he was there to see the car that appears to have inspired the X-wing?

Forgot to mention the nice Lancia D24 you have there...? ;)

Considering it was a "recreation", rather than an original, it looked rather ropey TBH.

Nice looking car though.

Outstanding Lancias are rare and therefore unknown to the average car enthusiast. As a result they need to be pointed out... ;)

Yes, I'm a Lancista

Due to crowds, and idiots, you have to be quite close to the cars to get a clear shot, hence a bit of diagonal action is required, but quite frankly, the ammount of neck pain involved in looking at the originals on screen was a bit much, so they've been lovingly rotated.

And what camera were they taken with?

My happy-snaps Pentax Optio G330.

I think I should probably get something a bit better, but can't really be bothered atm.

Post #8, pic 5 - you can see the Jota in front of the '06 Miura Concept.

Yes.
