I can't seem to find any specs but try www.hsv.com.au. They should have specs there.

i am curious as to why G-teki and the other member think that it (the maloo) is not the fastest ute? its confirmed by the guiness world record books, its official, whats up?

you watch ford will pull something out of there arses when ford bring out the next falcon

Well, it's gonna have to be good because the Maloo is already more powerful, and is only going to get more powerful, and has the added benefit (if you don't need to carry a lot of weight) of IRS.

You sure because I seriously doubt that Ford is going to accomplish that!:D

The only reason Ford havent made a challenge yet is because they fit 250km/h speed limiters to their top cars.

Theres no gurantee that the 2008 model will change that. If they keep the same single model with the removable rear tub, its unlikely. If they do what Holden have done, which is the more expensive path, of having a seperate cab chassis and utility body its likely they might loosen the reigns on the ute body.

If so then how come it wasn't the fastest?

I think he was refering more to the "pulling something out of their arses" as in how much work they put into the BA

No problem mate. Making mistakes helps you learn.

The Maloo is an awesome ride. So cheap, and it can carry all you need... I wish we had them over here!

I think you guys can, or at least will be able to soon. Tom Walkinshaw wants to get more HSV's over to the UK but not part of the VXR range like the HSV GTO is.

You do, one took part in that speed run down the London airstrip, and anyway, I've seen heaps of sites about UK HSVs, and they love the utes

Can't you just get a Vaxhaull version of the Maloo if your in the UK?

no, Vauxhall only took the monaro and it's variants, the others have to be imported through linden special vehicles or something

Like Vauxhaul would bother ATM anyway with the all new utes being less than 24 months away.

fpv_gtho

It would still be worthwhile. Ford introduced the Focus here with a similar timeframe till the new model, and IIRC Renault did the same with the Clio

Result: The focus sunk :D IMO they should have kept the Laser nameplate (it has the herritage).

fpv_gtho

The Laser also has a reputation for being a POS. The Focus didnt sink with buyers because of being the late model, the styling simply didnt gel with alot of buyers, there was a lack of an affordable hero model and Ford didnt market it anywhere near enough as they had their plate full with establishing the BA.

Ok then either import one or wait untill the new Maloo comes out.
