that's not too good for a 911 turbo... i was going like 150 mph in 997 turbo and even more in 996 gt3

besides, i was on a track in gallardo SE, viper and enzo apart from many others :p

Depends on the track...You might have driven the 911 on a track with long straights meaning more time to hit higher speeds...whereas carbrochuretom might have gone on a track with smaller straights meaning less time to hit the speeds you did.....

Negative, ghost rider. Top speed = 127mph. She was definitely singin' though.

Precisely. For a British circuit, that's rather fast I'd say. Silverstone I presume?

the track i was driving on is really rally small - the longest straight had just about 400 m and it's very windy - called 'lawice' in poznan but that probably won't tell you anything :p

so it was just thanks to the outstanding skills of the drivers :)

This summer i drove a Ferrari F355 GTB. Not on a track though. But a really amazing experience. The acceleration, the sound, the speed you can carry through bends. We had 200km/h in a 50 zone. I didnt go that fast, but the owner was an excellent driver. Caught the tail in a slide doing 120. A marvelous car!

I deduce that you have had a ride in a FXX...How was it??? MUst be on another level compared to a normal car...

A very short one at that. And yes my cousin work's for the globe and mail and got the only owner of one here in Canada to give me a short stint. I only got to pummel down the straight at 165mph though. It's very loud and abrasive, and does not feel like a Ferrari.

It is noticably understandable that it's a purebred racecar. It is defimatly not normal.

Omg.an FXX! You must hav shit your pants.it must have been a short straght because the acceleration is insane from 0 to 200 and beyond.I wonder if the carERRA gt succesor would defeat it

Blah blah blah... well done you

Nice one tom (I guess that's your name?), what track did you do it at? What dydzi probably doesn't know is that anything over 100mph on a UK course is very quick.

And if we're playing top trumps, I've done 170 in a 612.

Sorry, I wasn't - I was having a dig at dydzi... like I said 130mph on a track is bloody fast. The 612 was on a runway: weirder, but less scarey.

Only just. 190mph=304kmh. The 997S can do that so the GT3RS would most definately be able to that speed.

I've been soapboxing. 30mph in a soapbox with your ass 1 inch off the ground feels like going 200mph in a Lada, but even scarier. It's fair enough saying you've gone faster than each other, but all that means is that you've found a longer straight that the other person. Get in a soapbox with no notable brakes and twitchy-as-hell steering ... then we'll see who's got guts ;)

Yeh i tried soapboxing once a few summers back...Ended up in hospital even though i crashed into a hay stack it was enough to break my wrist, since then i havent been near anything that can move and some speed without breaks... You should try skateboarding while holding on to a car..i tired that once too, you can guess what happened, yep i crashed and broke the same wrist...

Everyones tried the skateboard/car thing :) My downfall was when a pebble got between the trucks and threw me off the board. Good times.

Yeh the same sort of thing happened to me, but instead the person driving the car decided to drive over the pebbled parking space area i stayed on for 10 odd seconds then i fell so badly...the worst thing about it was that i knew i was going to fall and it was going to hurt, the anticiptation of the pain was more worst than the pain...

Short gearing buddy. Not some big clunky 'stang box with moonshot gearing, it'd pull to the limiter
