I have two cars here, and one I don't know what it is, the other one appears to be a 250 GTO, but under harder looking is obviously not. Any clues???

Here I need to post some photos... hold on a sec...

the "GTO" is a replica, and a poor one at that.

The silver car I have no idea.

The red 'ferrari' i think is a Datsun Z Series model... And the silver one might be a rebodied NSX...

It's written in the file names...

1) Ferrari 250 GTE Drogo
2) JPP (initials of the creator) ;)

Now this comment suddenly sounds stupid now we know it is no replica :D Though in your defence, the exposed headers and covers do ruin the car somewhat.

If it is supposed to look like a GTO than it is a poor replica. If it is intended to look like another car it clearly is lacking originality:D
Furthermore the file says 250GTE, which means that it is one of the many 250GTEs that was chopped to turn it into a lookalike GTO.

I believe the silver car is a Ford Taunus. [/wrong]

compare these two replicas with the Drogo one....The red one actually participates in UK historic races and is based on a 330 chassis. It runs as a 330GT.

While we're on the topic of mystery cars, what is this car?

I was looking for the official mystery car thread but I couldn't find it.

There's something about the light line on the front of the alleged GTO that doesn't add up.

Also, what kind of GTO replica wouldn't have the three signature half-moon vents in the nose?

A few SWB chassis were bought up by racing teams trying to cash in on the GTO's success by copying the engineering. (Breadvan, anyone?)

There's every chance that we're looking at a Datsun Z in new clothes, but don't most Z conversions keep the doors of the donor Z?

I'd say the jury's still out, but the GTO engine had six twin-choke webbers. This has three. Who knows.

that however is not the car shown in the first post of this thread. Those were conversion made more or less on new chassis (like the Breadvan) to improve aerodynamics. The fact that Drogo may have been responsible for the GTO shown does not make it any less of a recreation....(or replica)

Another Drogo re-bodied 250 GT
