LoL you know your car is awesome when they want to declare it a threat to national security..

Technically it's a sleeper because at the traffic lights the person wouldn't see the huge jet turbine :D

That is absolutely legendary.

Just wow!

I was smiling the entire time I read that. Particularly at the car being a threat to national security.

Now, I understand the irony of doing it to a Beetle... let's see if he'll kit out a big German estate with one of those :D

Passat 1.8T 20v jet, anybody?

Turning the jet on is optional, otherwise it runs on the stock gasoline engine :D

It is road legal.
I'd guess not, on account of it incinerating other road users and pedestrians!! :D

Awesome find CdocZ! :)

Everybody knows a chipped 1.8T would be faster than any rocket powered car.

There is only one car faster than a chipped 1.8t.

He'll drown his problems in Guiness and also cherry brandy, a popular drink amongst Polskiis.

My mom is getting a new beetle in a few weeks and she still wants to keep the old one, it'd be a pretty interesting build to put one in and still get 50mpg with the diesel. :D

Great idea. You just can't take your hand off drinks in the cupholders, they keep getting sucked into the jet stream. :(

I prefer the Jet scooter.

It's a stock VW Beetle 2.0 automatic.

Engine: inline-4, 1984cc, SOHC, 8v
Weight: 1231kg
Transmission: 5-speed automatic
Peak power: 114bhp @ 5200rpm
Peak torque: 125lb/ft @ 2400rpm
0-60: 12.9 secs
Top speed: 113mph

Jet engine has 1350bhp. I have no IDEA how fast that would be.

Aw, Naw, HE DID'NT!

That Beetle is great. But the driver would have to pay very careful attention to what's behind him.

Jay Leno said that his wacky-racer-esque Y2K superbike (also powered by a jet turbine) could melt the plastic fascias of cars behind him. There's no telling what this thing could do, but it'd probably be a little like the last song on The Final Cut.

I was about to mention that... I used to have a pic where you see all the flames coming out af the back... I might have an idea of where it is... give me a few mins and I'll get back to that ;)

EDIT - can't find it... sorry

I'll tell you this much, it would be hell in traffic. Specially for those behind the turbine! :D

Road legal, it's not! If some crashes into it from the back, there would be serios consecuences for both cars.

It is road legal....he just can't use the jet engine for normal travel. He can choose when he turns it on, but otherwise he can run off the normal gasoline engine, hence why it IS road legal.
