Theyve been thinking about it for a while, most likely going to bring over the H3 and get Holden to sell them. Personally i think its a bad idea, but in typical Holden fashion they'll try and sell cheapo Korean small car products, try and flog off an H3 as the top spec SUV and still try and get the VE to have the credibility of a Euro saloon.

Holden should come up with there own 4X4 (SUV) for the market and try to take on the land cruser

Theres no point. In past year's theyve had the Jackaroo which is just a rebadged Isuzu, along with the Rodeo. Now theyve got the Captiva coming from Korea although thats useless for anyone with offroading ambitions.

With GM's global situation, they need to concentrate more on sharing resources than simply wasting development money on coming up with more.

Austrlia is one of the best 4X4 places in the world u think that they whoud have a dicent 4X4

The LandCruiser and Patrol rule though as far as 4x4 reputation goes though. Perhaps the only manufacturer who has ever successfully broken into that is LandRover. Even Jeep isnt regarded on the same level, despite their pedigree in the US. Unless a manufacturer can break into that sort of market successfully, theyre not doing themselves any favours. Ford currently has the highest selling SUV in the country with the Territory, but you wouldnt seriously consider trekking with one of those, maybe just a weekend on the beach. Right now, thats the sort of market Holden really should be looking at, as Toyota simply has the rest of the 4x4 market covered.

The H2 is already here and its a HOS, I just can't see the H3 being any better

Holden rocks
09-20-2006, 10:02 PM
the only differents is the size the H3 is smaller and only has 5 pistons

Holden rocks
09-20-2006, 10:05 PM
so it is smaller with less power

So it still has the same appaling build quality, fit and finish, handling, accelleration and parts quality - but on the upside it may fit into a lane....... wow I don't know how I resist buying 1

In my opinion the Hummer is an ugly, disgusting and outrageously expensive waste of the earth's natural resources.

Holden, we are begging you... DO NOT bring this monstrosity called the Hummer, to Australia. Think of the chlidren. :D

The H3 won't do much harm in terms of atmospheric abuse. Still ugly though :D

The VE is every bit as good now and they would offer them for way to much over $100,000 easy.

Not really Slick, the platform the CTS is on for example is GM's premium RWD platform. The front end in particular can be expected to be higher tech, along with a few other areas that can be put in since it wont be expected to sell on a budget.

Mr. Jinx

The CTS would start to eat through Statesman/HSV sales. And it was priced higher to prevent that, it wouldn't sell at all.

The STS, SRX and XLR are probably the only cars that make remote sense to be sold here.

High tech front ends don't turn any better then mac struts:D. And one thing i couldn't believe was the caddy was tried in 99 to be built as a commodore but many things wernt up to scratch on it to be commodore size:eek:.

Well its a general given that you go double wishbone for better wheel control but higher cost, and struts for lower costs but still fairly good control. Unless a manufacturer comes up with something special, your general setups wont deviate from that too much.

hmm is that true? or would it be truer to say that caddy platform wasnt really compatible with what they wanted to do?
i dont know much about the issue

I'm very shocked that Ford use double wish bone when they could use mac struts and save some $$$.

I think it was interior and boot space that was way off for them.

The Falcons always had a wishbone front end, they wouldve been able to manage the costs since day one.

Somethings telling me that the H3 rebaged as a Holden is going to turn out as a disaster.

fpv_gtho
09-25-2006, 04:08 AM
Well its unlikely to be rebadged, or so you would think. Nobody would recognise it as a Holden. At least keeping it a Hummer would have some brand recognition.

Keep it as a heap of hummer:D

I'd prefer it as a Hummer, not a redaged one. But it would be interesting if they do rebage it.

Got up close to a H2 today. $166,000 Now it's better put together then you think minus the shit, Leather is nice everything is black some little options are fine but for something so large it's got no room inside i think, passenger would have trouble if they had long legs. And the rear cargo what does that hole that a falcon or commodores boot wouldn't?.

I may be a little slow here, but when did the Hummer come to Aus? Was it in the last month? If so that would explain why this is news to me.

SlickHolden

It's not really here ass yet but you can get them. Everyone is hoping holden doesn't sell them under there roofs as they are over priced and useless.
