Okay, I thought I would test peoples knowledge outside of cars ( altough some of the questions do have to do with cars).

1. What car company also makes TVs, DVDs, etc.?
2. What motorcycle company also makes musical instruments?

Okay I don't have that many now  :( , but I'll think of more later. And if you want to add a question, go ahead! Just make sure it isn't completely related to cars. :)

3. What is the rarest mineral ever?

I have a rock and mineral collection, so a know a bit about them. ;)

Hi there, Carlover;

Daewoo is another car manufacturer that also produces consumer electronics.
Ducati is a company that produces motorcycles that also qualify as musical instruments imho.
I'll have to pass on the mineral....

I highly dought any other member on this site will get number 3 alone so I'll give you guys a BIG hint:

"Ouch!"

At least people can trie to guess now. Here is a picture of it. What's good about these hints is that it is still hard to run a google search to find the answer. :p

carlover
04-04-2004, 06:46 PM
Nope. Nothing so far. Ther first clue was not about the reaction you have when you touch it. It was about the ____. If nobody gets it for awhile I'll fill in the blank. Anyways, keep guessing. And by the way, this mineral is extremly rare. Many times rarer then Mercury. There are only a few speciamens of it. And none were or are available on the market.

4. Name ALL the rocks and minerals on the Mohs scale from softest to hardest.

Arange it like this:

This is going to be really hard. ;) Let's see who can get it first. :D

Misho

Who is Moh, and what did he do to deserve his own scale?
Mohs created the Mohs scale which determins the hardness and softness of rocks and minerals. He named Diamonds the Hardest mineral so it would be 10. He named talc the softest mineral so it would be a 1. Every other rock and mineral is some where in the middle. The way you can tell if a rock or mineral is harder than another is by scraping them together. Which ever one gets scratched is softer. This is one of the most usefull scales ever and allows geologists to easily determine the hardness of a rock, which makes it easier to determine what kind of rock or mineral it is and the quality and durability of it.
