And here's something we're not used to seeing... prototype toys! Here are the "concept" Casino Royale Corgi Cars!

great pics. love the more(slightly more) muscular look. also, realized, that in post 1, the third pic, it shows that its a DBRS9. the same in post 3, pic 2. isnt the DBS different from the DBRS9? or are they the same thing?

They have DBRS9 on the back as part of camouflage. All the pictures posted here are of the DBS.

I hope they don't go too mad with the styling. It'd be a shame to ruin the beautiful shape of the DB9.

Nobody knows! I believe the MY2007 will be unveiled early next year.

I expressed my concerns because the blue prototype looks why over the top...

my god, a model year corresponding to the calendar year

Will it look exactly the same?

I presumed it would, hence the comment. If otherwise I apologise :)

I've heard that it will look the same, save for a few minor modifications to the front splitter and rear airdam.
Also - I'm pretty confident that the DBRS9 badging is just "camo" for the prototype (probably hoping it would be mistaken as the racecar). I can't imagine they would spend the money to promote the car w/ Bond as the DBS only to change the name ot DBRS9. Furthermore, the DBRS9 is already a car that can be bought-it's the "civilian" (still not road legal though)version of the DBR9 racecar.

derekthetree, then it must be a MY08... I'm not 100% sure though.

it could well be a MY07, i was just commenting on the oxymoronic nature of the usual MY designations (especially on American cars)

I think most 07 cars were out in August here (non AM)! And I think 2007 AM's started a few months ago... so the DBS will have to start as a 2008...

We'll know for sure soon enough!

If it is being released in 2007, it is the 2007 model.

QED.

The production version is being unveiled in 2007, but it may not go into production until late 2007/early 2008, making it a MY2008.

Yeah, companies and countries all have their weird ways of assigning model years. In some countries model year is assigned based on what year the car is built in. In others it is not. For example, 07MY cars will come out during 2006. If a car is released in 2007 it would be considered an 08MY, even if it is released in January of 07. I remember the current generation of MB SLs coming out around Feb. or March of 2002 in the US but they were strangely enough considered to be 03MY cars. It helps to avoid confusion when two different generations of a car are produced in the same year.
