Yes but remember that when they had the Brera in the studio JC praised it highly. Then again May is the one who will be doing the 159 review, so maybe he will be driving the Brera too.

No, its Real that's the problem.

I just tried watching a clip of Ray Mears, the first alternative link to clips I came across; options for Windows Media Player or Real;
- Windows works fine for both hig/low res
- Real doesn't stream properly, its just a series of still images.

So, even without the bloat installed, I still have 26MB of Real Player sat on my hard disk, and the first time that I have used it for about 6 months it doesn't work.

Still; 3 1/2 hours to go!

So this is an OLD installation of Real ?
First, recommend getting the recent updates ( better decoder performance ).
Also, check that all the settings are at automatic.
Specifically make sure that the bandwidth settings match your reality.
I've seen what you describe on low speed broadband when set to be LAN :D

THere really is nothing "wrong" with Real, it's just another company trying to make money with a patented compression :)

No, v.10.5, only dl'd & installed a few months ago because it was refusing to work for something else.

The bandwidth settings are correct, as all of the other media players I have are set to the same speed and they all work.

THere really is nothing "wrong" with Real,

I'd accept that it was something wrong with me/ my system if nothing else worked; but that's the point:

Everything else is fine, and works flawlessly. Real doesn't. QED - that's where the problem lies.

I just did a clean install of the latest version, all updates etc, and tried again:

Worked for all of 10s before it stopped streaming properly.

Still, one could hardly be disappointed with the XK either.

Seems Top Gear can't do anything these days without falling foul of someone...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6324129.stm

The handling of Richard Hammond's return to Top Gear has been branded "insensitive" and "insulting" by a charity for people with brain injury.

Headway said it had been inundated with complaints particularly over comments made by presenter Jeremy Clarkson.

At the start of Sunday's show, Mr Clarkson asked Mr Hammond if he was mental, while James May offered him a tissue in case he started dribbling.

The BBC said the show was not intended to cause any offence.

It really was offensive and insulting to all those people living with brain injuries
Peter McCabe, of Headway

Headway chief executive Peter McCabe said: "This has created such anger among members of Headway. It really was offensive and insulting to all those people living with brain injuries.

"I think the whole way the show handled the issue was wrong. They should not have shown the crash.

"It just glamorised fast driving and gives the impression people can make a full recovery from head injuries.

"That is not always the case."

Complaints

The charity said it had received 50 complaints via the telephone helpline and through email from members and has now announced it will be making a complaint about the programme.

Mr Hammond, 37, was left fighting for his life in September following the crash in when his jet-powered car came off a runway near York at 280mph.

The BBC Two show featured footage of the crash.

A BBC spokesman said: "Top Gear's audience is familiar with the irreverent tone of the programme and this was typical of the type of exchanges that take place between the presenters. It was certainly not intended to cause any offence.

"The item showing Richard's crash could not have been a clearer illustration of the dangers and excitements of speed."

The programme has also fallen foul of Brake, the national road safety charity.

It said it was "shocked and appalled" by Mr Clarkson's comment that "speed kills" just after pointing at Mr Hammond following clips of the crash.

Jools Townsend, from the charity, said: "Clarkson's comment was highly irresponsible and offensive to anyone who has been bereaved or injured at the hands of a speeding driver.

"A shockingly disproportionate number of young male drivers are dying on our roads and it is highly irresponsible for the BBC to allow Top Gear, with its target audience of young males, to openly make light the deadly act of speeding."

The Caparo T1 takes the powerlap record, only to be disqualified. From Autoblog (http://www.autoblog.com/2007/11/20/caparo-t1-disqualified-after-taking-i-top-gear-i-lap-record/):

Performance figures don't give an accurate picture of just how well a car performs overall. A given car may be the fastest to sixty, but that doesn't mean it has the highest top speed, tightest cornering or sharpest brakes. Lap times around a given track paint a more accurate, comprehensive picture of a car's abilities, but picking one track as the gold standard is dicey business. That's where Top Gear's Power Lap board comes into play.

Although weather conditions can vary, BBC's Top Gear puts all the cars through the paces at the same test track outside their studio, and what's more is that they're driven – or at least, so we're lead to believe – by the same driver: The Stig.

The latest high-performance supercar to make a run for the top of the record board is the Caparo T1, which, at 1:10.6, easily trounced the previous record holder, the Koenigsegg CCX, by an astonishing seven seconds. Unfortunately the Caparo was disqualified because, in its track set-up, it lacked the adjustable ride height to enable it to clear a requisite speed-bump. Caparo insists they deserve a second chance with a road-spec version. If the show's producers give the Ultima GTR an official run, meanwhile, the Caparo's reign as king of the Power Lap could be short-lived, adjustable shocks or not.

Interesting news. I had thought that the Ultima GTR already lapped the course - what time did it get?
