View Full Version : Brabus:K8+100 bhp=SV 12 bi turbo

BRABUS introduced its newest top of the range SL & named it the SV12 bi turbo due to its gigantic V12 6.3 litres producing 640 bhp taking the vehicle to its 100 kmh in just 4.2 secs.
New additions may be noticed from the previous K8 model which was 5.4 litres V8 engine devoloping 530 bhp hitting the 100 kmh in just 4.4 secs.
SV now has a face different from its little sister the K8 as Brabus decided to exclude Merc's 3 pointed star from its front view....
More tech. may be found @http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.mv?file=car.mv&num=1675&left=
For info on the K8:http://www.supercars.net/cars/2002@$Mercedes-Benz%20Brabus@$K8g.html
The new SV 12 bi turbo's image follows:

I've attached an image of the K8 with this thread.

You know, they test this car's topspeed on the Autobahn near Bottrop...damn more than 300 km/h on a public road! I think I'll move to Germany some day :)

people lets think about this a car with a 7 litre engine has to be fast. You dont have to be a genius to create a 7 litre car that is fast.
If BMW made a 7 litre car it would go back in time never mind beat this waste of engine space.

I have to agree with Guy, ish. Why does it take a turbo to make this power out of 7.0 litres?

Ah well, horses for courses.

ok I didnt read it had a turbo!!

do you guys know the consequences of using a small engine over a big one - ok lets take mercedes benz. they love using huge engines and with tubos or supercharges for that added power - have you all heard of the worlds most unsecessful upercar the JAGUAR XJ 220 - jag wanted to use a v12 but they threw away that idea and they brought in a v6 and they twin turbo charged it ans the v6 has massive loads of reliability problems because the engine was too small for the emmence power of the two turbos especially when you power the car - mercedes benzs all over the world are known for their reliability(but BMW is better though)and thus they need to keep their ullet proof reliability up with the big boys thus they do no want to strain the huge engine and by the way the brabus sl 7.3 is not force inducted its uses the zonda engine which merc themselves created. its fast though and it looks good and by the way why do you all even care if the power and looks are there thats it - people don't really care much about the fuel economy - wheather it drinks like a dipsomaniac or not buyers do not really care - thy are just too rich and besides how often are they going to drive it

Do you know the consequences of using a large engine and turbocharging it, when a smaller normally aspirated one will do?

Improved throttle response
Lighter engine
better handling
less fuel consumption etc. etc.

I'm not knocking the car or the engine; but the power output from this engine seems a bit pathetic when you consider its vast size AND it isn't normally aspirated.

Feel free to laugh at the 220 all you like; I cannot comment on the V6 reliability issues, but I do remember that it was the brakes that always came to criticism; NOT the engine. Oh, and the 220 was produced 14 years ago. That's almost older than you isn't it?

nobody seems to be driving their supercar like a supercar so i guess yeah to show off - and by the way every ferrari i have seen on the road so far - they were all travelling below 50km/h on an empty long layer of tarmac(which is the road)

AHEM - maniac what do you mean by 355 wheeling and 360 at 120(isn't that slow for a FERRARI - real slow i think - my mum goes at 140 with her soluna and she calls that cruising - and 575 with wheels off the groud - i don't think so - please be more specific - thanks

then dont by a 8 litre super charged car to cruise in. take the train.

or get a station wagon.

actually hold on people do we really think we are going tto change the way a whole nation makes cars..... no we arnt.

so rather let them be silly and build big slow non handling cars that most other countries build with half the engine size twice the power and it can turn left and right.

I remeber the skyline was yellow and nicknamed somethin like "the yellow lemon monster" or some crap dont know

but was fricking fast was about 3 years ago I think had huge turbo's plus twin nitro's that ran automatically at a certain rev range or something, and the injecters where so big they needed to put in the boot.

if memory serves it did 0-100kph in 3.0secs(I think might be less)
and top end run of 410kph but that was done when they took the car over to the USA and did that on the salt flats I think.

oh well searched for that article but can find anything.

maybe you crazy's know something about it.

there is a 1200hp skyline R33 GT-R tuned by Top Secret. People im not kidding I was I skyline nut couple years ago. However I think it would be possible to achieve even more then 1200hp in a Porsche, the reason ppl don’t do it $$$$.
