I feel dumb not knowing the name of them, but they are a sort of pencil pad that are used in computer animation, and photoshop, and drawing programs, its sorta like a touchscreen type pencil on a plastic pad. In place of your mouse i guess, or addition to. if anyone knows where to get these, and how much they run for, that would be of help to me:D

Graphics tablets.

Cheap ones are available, but Wacom (http://www.wacom.com) is the one to look out for.

The Cintiq is the one to go for, simply draw on the screen, less of a strain on the hand-eye coordination.

I've seen cintiqs being used before. Amazing things. Perfect for computer aided design.

yup; WACOM is what everybody uses - they're fairly expensive though. I need to replace the pen for mine - the rubber is wearing down. Those things run 30-40$, by themselves!

I'd get the Cintiq, but that costs WAYY too much money for me right now. lol

I have an Adesso Cybertablet 12000 but haven't had time to use it yet.

Hmm.. I'd really want those aswell; but since I dont have one.. I would normally sketch something on paper, scan it, and then render it with photoshop.
