hey.

what is the best Holden Monaro Based Car. The Monaro, the Monaro or the
GT0

I think australia is OK, but are the sportscars from there okay?

i see a monaro CV8Z, a HSV GTO and a monaro with small budget wheels and an ugly front?
i'm going to say the coupe 4 for it's long distance comfort.

By the constraints of your question - what is the best Monaro based car.

Has to be a Monaro, no?

Well if we want to go nuts we might as well get the full banana. VXR 500 for me.

You mean the HSV GTO with PWR supercharger:p

Anyway it's got to be the base as IB4 said, It makes them all without it nothing existed.
But the monkey man has a good point the GTS-R hubba hubba.

We dont really make supercars. We make lard-arsed family cars and spinoff's, and some kit cars.

Point still stands though! Theyre not really SPORTScars

the HSV GTO must be a vsuxhall VXR

The english version is my favourite, closely followed by the Aussi version (i only prefer the 500BHP English version). However, you Yanks managed to f*** this car up BIG TIME

the VXR is the HSV GTO. THe VXR500 had a rip shifter and a supercharger thrown in. now, if they'd made the 427 monaro...

I agree totally! :D
coupe 4 for long trips and GTSR for track ftw :p

HSV 7L 427 GTSR.

ballparking $100k with 385kw on tap...

Value for money there considering its in M5 class for less then half the money.

I never thought 'Overseaers' saw our cars like this!
Well I liked, before the whole Monaro scheme was dropped, the VT GTS...

I'll take a Holden Monaro or GTO

No Vaxhaull for me, I'd rather have an Opel badge.

Same car:p.. The 500 is just a HSV with supercharger bolted on, It was a option here also it was introduced with the AWD Coupe 4 to boost it's power.. 375kw. Work that into HP and you got 500. But i'm glad you like it you buggers get it cheaper then us:p.

I'd prefer the C5R-headed 420kw version. Not exactly an M5 competitor though, especially with a stripped interior.

Probably closer to an M6 CSL, if it were to be made.

Yes, especially as he can't afford the fuel of a standard one the extra fuel usage of the supercharger makes it even less affordable

That thing is gorgeous. I hope more people buy the VXR8 over here, I hardly ever got to see a Monaro, which was really quite a shame :(

I love seeing GTOs around here and the reason I think I'm seeing more GTOs here is the fact that people are getting really good deals and really realize how amazing these cars are! I really hope people fall in love with the G8.

Are you serious? It was one of Evo Magazine's favourite cars. I thought there was quite a few in the UK.

they only sold 200 a year in the UK i think, compared with 18,000 in the US and 21,000 for A/NZ

Do you think that the appearance package helps the looks? Usually those kind of things make a vehicle look ugly IMO (e.g. Corolla S).

Mr. Jinx

I think it helps the GTO - but just about anything would. Its so damn ugly...

fpv_gtho

I never liked the SAP kit for the GTO. The front end was overly fussy in its detailing and the rear end with the GTO embossed into the bumper was never executed right. The original series 1-2 Monaro's always looked the best IMO.

Well, if eveyone overseas likes our cars, you'll love the 08 Falcon! It is rumoured for export! 320Kw, 550Nm V8 sound good? Or, 300Kw, 575Nm I6 even? Didn't think so! :p
