I read this the other day and thought it was a little suspicious. You'd think that any respectable institution would zero that paper simply based on the language content. There is no way that it could have scored 61%. Then again, I'm not up to speed with the American education system - maybe they have lower standards :p

That might be the key point - but the tone of the essay was consistent, the writing was not uncohesive in sentence structure or paragraphing. And his spelling was quite decent.
Too bad he didn't really have that much to say :p
