Last weekend - the 13th - 14th October
Martini organised a Legends weekend for hte 75th Anniversary of the GP of Monjuic in Barcelona.
The circuit is basically unchanged from 1973 or 4 when they ran the last GP on the hill (street circuit) and they closed the roads off for the Sunday to run a collection of cars around it.
The star attraction was Emerson Fittipaldi driving the Lotus. They also had a 2006 Ferrari there to run around the circuit.
Cars from various classes - GT, prototypes, F2, F1 and touring cars were there.
The Saturday they opened the street where the cars were parked to the public - penned in and fairly inaccessible - and then on Sunday they ran hte cars on the hill.
Unfortunately they didn't bother to put up any protection for spectators and the cars ran around hte circuit escorted front and back by police cars. Oh and a host of Ferraris. Sunday was very disappointing, but at least we got to see some nice cars.
The 2006 Ferrari driver did nothing to entertain the crowds.
He just ran around the circuit as fast as he could. Once overtaking hte police escort and being severely told off for it.
The BCN police were total kill joys to the entire 10 till 2 session.
Odd for such a car crazy population.
Anyway
Here are some photos I took.
It doesn't represent all of the cars. Just some that I photographed.
