Which country (Italy, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, America, Japan) do you think makes the best sport and race cars or which makes you favorite cars?

For me it's a close match between British and Italian cars. But in the end I would have to pick Italian.

I think that Britain does still lead the way in performance vehicles.

There are many specialised engineering firms that are the go-to guys when some one wants high perfomance parts.

There are many great sports car manufacturers
TVR, Lotus, Caterham, Ultima, AC, Lola, Marcos, Radical, Noble...

Sure, they aren't huge world players, but they are some of the finest cars on the planet.

Then we have the racing
McLaren, Williams, Jordan, BAR, Ralliart, Prodrive...

The fastest car ever, thrust SSC - British

And then there are the designers, (quite a lot from Coventry ;) )
Nissan 350Z, Cadillac Cien, Chrysler ME412, all designed by brits...

Ian and Moray Callum,
Antony Grade head of exterior design at Renault
and many more that I can't remember.

And remember all those wonderful companies that used to be British?
Mini, Rolls royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Landrover, Aston Martin...

Germany has Porsche, France; Venturi, Japan has the Civic Type R( :D )
Italy has Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Pagani, America has Saleen, Mosler and Panoz, Australia has that car which I can't remember the name of

But do any of those really compare with the best of British* :)

*No question mark, as it is rhetorical, and the answer is "no" :D

I don't know why people aren't voting British racing cars top:

Aston Martin, Bentley, Arrows, TWR, Benetton, Jordan, Jaguar, Lola, Subaru WRC (prodrive), Mitsubishi WRC (ralliart), BRM, Cooper, Lotus, McLaren, Williams, BAR (prodrive), Raynard, Pilbeam, Napier, ERA, Lister, Cosworth...

I doubt anyother country can come up with a list of as many successful manufacturers

your patriotic mate

No, just realistic. :)
I can't think of another country which has as many top sports and racing car manufacturers.

Please feel free to correct me.

Anyway, what's wrong with being patriotic?
There isn't much left to be patriotic about these days anyway. :(
As soon as I finish my degree I am off to a country where I am not treated as a second class citizen. (Funds/ employment permitting) :)
