Yeah, I meant that those on the other side of the International Date line would have celebrated the new year already. So, I wished them a new year as well.

The dates are exactly the same, right?
If it is, I would expect that because the Asian countries all kinda share the same general culture.

Eh, more or less. Most cultures are offshoots of China/Chinese. ;):)
