According to this, the car was being driven to the set during the rain and ended up going off a cliff into a lake. The driver had minor injuries and probably one bruised ego. I guess thats another one written-off for the movie. I just wish there were better pics.

I just wonder if the driver was going too fast or if it was truly an accident.

I find it amazing that they actually drove the car to the set! Dont high end cars like that usually get towed to the set:confused:

one-offs will ... so the special ones for the special effects ... but the standard ones will go the cheapest and that's usually getting it driven :) Besides, it's a perk for the crew --- or it WAS :(

Shame that it was the real deal and not a fake, rebodied Ford

NOT AGAIN!!! How many of these cars do they have to go through to make a movie.

Well, I guess that with that chopped roof the car's more aerodynamic now... (btw, the driver's ok).
I saw this on tv yesterday evening, apparently the stuntman "pushed the wrong button, the one that raises suspensions" instead of I dunno what...(:confused:)
Can the raised suspensions really be the cause of THIS??

maybe he pushed the button in the middle of a curve with water on it....from the looks of the caved in roof, I wonder if it rolled before going over the cliff...or if the water is really shallow there???

pushed the wrong button, the one that raises suspensions"

Maybe he confused it for the "submarine" button from 007's Esprit...

...he found-out what it really did when he was "Shaken, not stirred.":p

Call me crazy, but doesn't it seem like bad publicity for Aston Martin to have James Bond keep destroying his cars or worse to have it flip over fifteen times as soon as Bond makes a sharp turn. But I guess this is showing that movie wasn't that far off and that maybe the DBS isn't that stable when you make sharp turns after all?

It depends how much is taken from the movie and how much from real life.

Get a chance to look at the making of the flipped DBS in Casion Royale.
They built a ramp and expected that to be enough at speed to flip the car.
The stunt driver basically said the suspension just absorbed it and the car kept giong :)

Hey, it's not Sportback, it's a Barchetta now called Aston Martin DBX-Bow

They're using the DBS again because this movie will basically pick-up where the last one left off, almost literally - so I've heard. Though the other DBS was destroyed in the movie, so they did have a chance to use a different car...

I guess they just used it again because it was still Aston's latest model at the time this movie began filming. If it were now, maybe they'd use a V12RS concept...?

Lower it!

Seriously, this is a bad track record, even for 007 standards, notorious for destroying gadgets.
