In some ways quite similar to Japan but in others quite different. Looks to be more flash cars in China than in Japan for a start.

1: The Great Wall
2: Some of my class mates
3: At the People's Square
4: Cops
5: BWM X5 3/4
6: Beijing's most popular shoping street

We had a great time and the people are great.

We also learned one thing.
China is copying everything, so unless we develope new technology we are f...ed. I even saw a SsangYong Rexton-copy...

By we I mean Europe, NA and Australia...

About 1/5 of every car we saw was a Audi A6L/A8L or BMW 530+ L/760L. Supposedly they are built in China, thus cheaper than a short one :)

KFC, McD, WOW, CS, newest mobile phones, cars, etc. They've got it... If it wasn't for the internet-restrictions set by the government, we would "see" a lot more of chineese people...

Great photo tour, they really show the huge contrast in China from rich to poor. Huge skyscrapers that scream financial power sit behind slums and derelict highrises, and the air pollution is horrendously visible in the cities.

How did you find it? I've heard it's harder to breathe at first, and the smog practically stops distant visibility. China has always fascinated me in the way that it's almost two complete opposite worlds within itself.

A lot of it is different but some of it is the same as American cities (mainly the gap between the rich and poor as illustrated in that one picture) you could take that picture in about any large city in America; Chicago, LA, New York, etc. Although I am sure the gap may be bigger in China. I want to go to China, a good friend of mine is going this summer, I think that is pretty sweet.

The Toyota Something in post 1 is a Toyota Crown, wish we had those here. The Honda looks like an Accord but slightly different.

Well in China it could be a Legend, it was just my guess since it looks like an Accord.

Your a 100% right, that is an Accord.

Ah. China. I'd love to go to Hong Kong. I'd stay away from the mainland though.

Still, nice pictures.

Question, how was the pollution in Beijing? Heard the smog could be quite bad.
