Here is the poll question:

Do you like a lot of chrome on cars, some chrome or very little chrome?

My answer... a LOT! Like on the '58 Buick Limited pictured below:

It depends on the car for me. I think it looks better on old cars.

True, it does depend on the car. I suppose it even depends on the color of the car.

I had to say a little because my 2002 has a lot of chrome trim and I do have to say it fits well on that car. Works well on older cars. I just HATE chrome wheels with a passion.

Chrome is tacky as hell on cars imo.

When I think of chrome what pops up in my mind is "bling bling" "24s" "yo yo yo" "heavy" "unnecessary" "ugly" "overdone" etc...

on modern cars, usually no. older cars are a different story

In my mind, Subtlety is the best policy.

but when the car is garish to begin with, you might as well do it all.

In some cars, but not over the top. It should be used as accents, like a window trim, not as a feature like a chrome bumper.

Only on old cars, and even then it needs to be in moderation. On new cars, it doesnt belong. The US seems to have an obsession with chrome wheels on all their new cars.

Better suited to older cars, don't go overboard though.

It's used to much in the States and such on these modern cars.

yeah seriously, i would like it a lot as well if i had that buick, but right now the only vehicles i have access to is a subcompact which i will not name and a CUV which i will not name either

and cars that remain unamed sensibly looks abd with chrome as well

the question really has to be taken into context for it to have any merit. should we delete this thread now in order to spawn a more elaborate, concise, textual, and overall superior one instead of carrying on in this real life argument for how aloof the southern california area is?

I think it looks good on older, American cars. NOT on new cars and especially not in the context of "pimpin" your car.

I like a fine line of chrome around the windows. (I hate BMW's with Black Line) But that's about it on modern cars.

I dislike chrome in the context of "pimping," but I like cars to have lots of chrome if that's the way they were originally made. I like to say that my car is pre-pimped from the factory (but only ironically, because the adjective "pimped" makes me cringe).

I love big chrome bumpers and grilles on classic cars, mainly because many of those cars were designed to be as gaudy and over-the-top as possible. The cars of the jet age wouldn't be as much fun without giant fins and acres of chrome. I say hooray for chromium maws on Buicks and bulbous reflective dagmars on Cadillacs, but boo them on Civics and Corollas.

I don't mind chrome in moderation.. Hate chrome wheels with a passion they looks shit house even on a car i would die for i would still say yuck!.

My Car has some chrome in body moulds and chrome around windows and grill outter is chrome also.. Looking to ad a chrome peace on my rear garnish and get my door handles chrome also.. But that's about as far as i will go, It all works in with the car outside.
On the in satin chrome is more my fav.

Hey, that's no fair!

A lot of vintage Japanese cars have chrome from the factory. My father's Accord has chrome trim around the windows and doors.

I know what you mean though, chrome rims/hubcaps. Yes, it can get very gaudy and ugly very fast.

I found this picture.
That may be just a little too much chrome for me!
It would be kind of hard on the eyes, especially in bright sunlight.

How would you wash an all-chrome car? Regular car wash soap?

Isn't that like a road safety hazard?
