Rough translation...

And of course thanks to David who last year had created a pretty cute little subject just for my birthday....hahaha.

It's to grab attention? I dunno what tabernacle means.

I think you meant thread in French right?

You got the first sentence right. Second sentence would be: It's that he's attentive!

As for tabernacle, here's an interesting read: Quebec French profanity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_French_profanity)

We are known as "Los Tabernacos" in Mexico :p

Our swears can also be used as verbs, nouns, adjectives...

Here's an example from a movie:

Perhaps a bit violent but meh... :p

Late august if everything goes well!! I'm still hesitating between a Twingo GT and a Clio TCE as for the car... (same engine, same price but really different cars)

Niice, I've seen a few Twingos around now, really glad Renault UK finally bought them to England.
We thought about leasing me a new car, I had a choice of Twingo GT, Clio 1.2TCE Extreme or a Megane CC 1.5dCi Authentique but we decided not to do it :(
Personally I'd take the Twingo, more bang for buck

I'd go for the Twingo too, but the thing is I think it looks a bit "redneck ricer" with the silver accesories tagged on the body... Plus the Clio is bigger. Anyway, I really don"t know what to do (neither do I know what color to choose...)

And the Twingo is a bit ugly round the back.

The 1.1-litre turbocharged engine is really interesting.

Thanks. I did take AP French though. It' a college level course, but I'm quite sure I failed the test. My French is bad actually. I've taken it for a while, but it barely gets into my head, especially the grammar. I absolutely will not understand when to use the passe compose or the imperfect. Plus, more complex forms of the past tense, I do not understand either.

Simple everyday French I could probably translate and maybe speak a little. But the press releases, I'd leave to you and Fisetdavid. :D

I absolutely will not understand when to use the passe compose or the imperfect. Plus, more complex forms of the past tense, I do not understand either.

Well, basically :

I sing/I am singing (simple present/present continuous) > Je chante (présent simple)
I have sung (present perfect) > Je chante (présent simple - most of time)
I sang (simple past) > J'ai chanté (passé composé)
I was singing (past continuous) > Je chantais (imparfait)

The passé simple (je chantai, tu chantas...) is more for litterary use, we rarely use it in everyday life.
You need to spot how english and french tenses match, that's what I do when I speak english. Besides it should be easier for you since you have more tenses than we do.

Anyway, I think you are doing well in french from the little I've read of you...

The Twingo is faster and has a better equipment for the same amount of money... But it's uglier and smaller than the Clio. No sé que hacer...

Go for the Clio. We were looking at one but unfortunately the TCE wasn't available with xenon headlamps.

It still has decent performance and it's more comfortable. La Clio est mieux. :)

Thanks a lot!

I'll continue studying French in college, cause there's no point of me learning it if I forget it all within the next four years. It'll come in handy sooner or later.

BTW, what does "ouais" mean?

It's a coloquialism for oui, I believe.

Likes "yes" and "yeah".

Ouais is the french equivalent of yeah. Not exactly elegant but we use it very often (in France, at least).

EDIT : like Ferrer just said it, actually...

that's exactly how mine would have been :( Clio would have been dark grey, Megane Silver. I envy you! Keep me posted
