This photo was kinda freaky. I liked how the sun was playing thru the leaves so I stopped the car with the kids in it, took 5 minutes to shoot the sun coming thru. This particular picture I thought there was something wrong with it. Then I looked closer in the middle to the right. Then I noticed the leaf with a couple of drops of water on in coming into focus

Even more illegal than the previous. I climbed upon two large rolls of cable (about 3 meters high) and had this awesome overview. The security guards were very nice though, had a good chat with 'em and they gave me some info on who to contact for a photoshoot on the terrain itself and everything. First, got to start of a long list of weekends with other terminals ! Saturday i'm going to be a guest with the "roeiers" in the Botlek area. 4am to 4 pm shift. Tiny boat, huge vessels. Should give some nice contrasts.

Its the first time I've shot in my garden really. Its also the first time i've used the macro setting on my lens and the results are better than expected, there are some other unaltered shots attached but they are not my entry!


What lens did you use?

Its a Tamron 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 Di LD Macro Lens.
Its not the best telephoto lens in the world but i got it cheap when i brought the camera and it will do until i can afford the canon 100 -400 :)

I'd recoomend it as a lens to start off with mine only cost me £100 in a massive package but i dont think they cost much more nowadays.

I have noticed one minor issue however, there is some Chromatic Aberration on one or 2 of my sport shots when I go kayaking but I dont know if its visible on motorsport shots but ill let you know next wednesday as ill try it at out silverstone on Tuesday and see if i notice anything.

CA IMO is the most visible when I shoot cars, with highlight being reflected off the sun. And it happens sometimes even with my expensive lens....

i like leeds, but the only one bad thing that day was searching for a hotel. we checked for about five hotels which were all fully booked!
